Dr. Burns graduated from Indiana University with a BA in 1980 and Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1984. She was a dental officer in the US Navy for seven years and has been practicing in Richmond since 1992. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, the honorary societies of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She is a former representative to and President of the Indiana State Board of Dentistry. Dr Burns provides dental services for orphaned children in Honduras every year, as a member of the dental mission group, Sonrisas Siempre. Her husband Chris, is an oral surgeon. He works out of her office several times a month. They have three terrific sons and two delightful granddaughters. She would love to be your dentist in Richmond.
Connie is our Business Assistant and Insurance Coordinator and she is fabulous at both jobs. She started her career in dentistry at Dr Burns office in 2001, took a brief hiatus at another dental office, then came back to us in 2017, much to our delight. She is married, has two grown children and a beautiful grandson, Carter. In her free time, she likes to craft, bake cakes, and spend as much time as possible with her grandson.
Jessica is our Front Desk Receptionist, so it is her smiling face that greets you when you come to our office. She is a 2004 graduate of Centerville High School, is married and has four children. Her favorite things to do in her spare time are watching her children at their sporting events, crafting, and hanging out with her family. She has been a part of our dental family for 2 years.
Jessica is a Dental Assistant and she has been with Dr Burns for 19 years!! She is wonderful with our patients and very skilled at dental assisting. Jessica has accompanied Dr Burns to Honduras on a mission trip 3 times and loves serving the orphaned children there. She has 4 children that keep her very busy going to all of their sport activities, adores her time at the beach, and a cute dog named Emma.
Megan is our Expanded Function Dental Assistant which means she is trained to place restorations, (fillings,) and she is very good at it. Megan has been a part of our team for 5 years. She has been on the Honduras mission trip once and was a wonderful addition. She is married and also has four children. She makes beautiful resin crafts and enjoys binge watching TV.
Kierstyn is the newest member of our team. She is a Dental Assistant and performed her internship at our office. We liked her so much that we hired her. She graduated from Fortis College in Dental Assisting. Kierstyn has two children. She enjoys photography, makeup, and doing hair in her spare time.
Michelle loves healthy smiles. She knew in high school that she wanted to be a Dental Hygienist, and realized that dream by graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2009. Michelle has been a member of our dental family since 2019.She loves helping her patients maintain their oral health while building relationships with them.
Joyces motto is You dont have to brush and floss all of your teeth, just the ones you want to keep. She graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry with her hygiene degree. She has been with our dental team since 2018 and is thrilled to be a part of practice dedicated to patient care. Joyce is married and has two daughters and lots of dogs. She has a passion for Golden Retrievers, travel, and music, (either playing the piano or watching a performance.)
