Dr. Ben Hanson was born in Detroit, Michigan and has remained a resident of southeastern Michigan throughout his life. Dr. Hanson completed his bachelors degree and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. From there, Dr. Hanson completed an advanced residency program focusing on complex restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and IV sedation at the VA Hospital and the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor. Dr. Hanson entered private practice in 2011 and has maintained a consistent focus on continued learning, completing hundreds of hours of advanced training.
Dr. Hanson firmly believes in lifelong education and is a founding partner and faculty member at the Foundation for Surgical Excellence an Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) accredited continuing education company supporting doctors in learning progressive surgical techniques to advance patient care. Dr. Hanson is also the Clinical Director of Implantology for Heartland Dental Care, the largest Dental Support Organization in the United States.
