Dr. Arva O. Lumpkin, a native of Savannah, Georgia and has been in private practice since 1986. She has completed courses both nationally and internationally in cosmetic, restorative dentistry and dental sleep medicine and continues to seek out the best training on the latest treatment methods in these areas. She has a special interest in whole body dentistry and the connection between dental health and general health. Highly dedicated to patient care, she is a member of several organizations founded with a commitment to excellence all phases of dentistry. A leader in organized dentistry, she has held key positions in the Georgia Dental Association as Peer Review/ Ethics Committee Chairman for the Northwest District of the state. Dr. Lumpkin became a pioneer in Cobb County when she opened her private practice and became the first African-American dentist in Cobb County. She is active in the community and has held a seat on the Board of Directors of the Tommy Nobis Center and the Advisory Board of Charter Bank and Trust, now the Bank of North Georgia.
Dr. Lumpkin is an active member of numerous professional organizations, to include the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine, Georgia Association of Sleep Professionals, Association of Black Cardiologists, Georgia Dental Society and the Thomas Hinman Society. She is also a graduate of Leadership Cobb.
Dr. Lumpkin has taken courses, studied dentistry and participated in extra-curricular dental interests in various parts of the world. One of the doctor 's extracurricular interests has taken her beyond our national borders to a dental clinic in Costa Rica. She set up the clinic for a personal friend and owner of a coffee plantation in Costa Rica. The plantation, highly respected in the coffee industry as producers of 'the most finely prepared coffee in the world'. The Clinic is named the 'Henry Laprade Wissel Clinica Medica y Dental de la Hacienda La Minita'. It is located about forty miles SW of San Jose, Costa Rica in a mountainous small town named Bustamonte. The clinic serves the workers of Hacienda La Minita coffee plantation. Not only did Dr. Lumpkin set up the clinic on the coffee plantation, she has written articles for coffee trade magazines and participated in a documentary about fine coffee. During the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Dr. Lumpkin had the great honor and distinction of being one of the dentists to work in Olympic Village the Olympic Athletes. She had the great experience of meeting athletes from all over the world and to improve their lives through dentistry, as practiced in the United States. The gratitude of the athletes will stay with her for all time, as will their stories and gifts to her for great service and treatment. It was through this experience that she developed a more global interest in dentistry. The diverse cultural aspects of how dentistry is practiced in various parts of the world and the impact it has on lives of people in this culture and others is of special interest.
Other dental educational and professional studies have taken her to Europe to include Oslo, Norway (Endodontic Study), Copenhagen, Denmark (Copenhagen Dental Symposium), France, Italy, as well as, Costa Rica (University of Costa Rica Dental School), Mexico, India (M. Gandi Hospital and Medical Center (Delhi), EDIS Dental School (Jaipur), MAIDS Dental School, Delhi), Sydney and Melbourne Australia (Dental Implants).

Originally from Marietta, Georgia, dentistry is in Jennys blood, as her father was a practicing dentist in Smyrna for many years. She started her career working in her fathers office and has proudly worked in the dental industry for over 20 years, first as an assistant and eventually becoming a hygienist.
Dentistry is truly a family affair in Jennys household. Her husband Kevin is also in the dental industry. When not working and being immersed in dentistry, she and her husband enjoy family time with her son Conner who is 17, and four year old daughter, Addie.
Maryann is a graduate of Georgia Perimeter College. Joining dentistry as a second career, she has found her passion in dentistry. She considers joining the dental field to be the best professional decision she has ever made. She truly loves helping patients improve their general health through good oral health. It is most rewarding to her to help facilitate positive change.
As a native of Ukraine, Alla immigrated with her family to the United States during her teen years. It is her smiling face that greets our patients chairside. Since childhood, she has been fascinated by the dental field. Graduating with a diploma in dental assisting in 2004 from Asheville Community College in North Carolina, she has loved working in dentistry ever since. She strives to help patients to have positive dental experiences and to achieve their dream smiles. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, nature and spending time with her family.
