Dr. Gary Vander Vliet earned his D.M.D. degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he received the Alpha-Omega Award for scholastic excellence and another for Operative Dentistry. Prior to attending Fairleigh, he earned an M.S. degree in Pharmacology from Rutgers University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado, where he earned his B.A. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Vander Vliet completed a one-year residency at Englewood Hospital. Hestarted his practice in 1987.

Dr. Vander Vliet is currently an active member of the Tri-County Dental Society, the New Jersey Dental Association, the American Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has also been named one of the top dentists in the country by the Consumers Research Council of America.

Committed to continuing education, Dr. Vander Vliet has earned numerous credits and distinctions beyond his degrees. Among his many credits, he received the Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1994. In 2006, Dr. Vander Vliet was awarded the Mastership Award of which only 4% of North American Dentists obtain.

He has studied with Dr. Peter Dawson at the Advanced Dental Education Center in Tampa, Florida, and attended Dr. Larry Rosenthals Aesthetic Advantage at the Rosenthal Institute in New York, the Academy of General Dentistrys Aesthetic Continuum in New York, and lectures on aesthetic dentistry by Dr. Frank Spear in Arizona. Because of his passion for smile design, Dr. Vander Vliet focuses his continuing education on aesthetics to provide his patients with unmatched cosmetic and restorative dental care.
