Terri L. Speed, D. D.S. is a native of San Jose, California. Dr. Speed received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She received Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University of Dentistry in 1990. Dr. Speed is a recipient of the Howard University Department of Community Dentistry Award and the Ida Simon Memorial Award. She trained in the chronically ill and aging program for three years in Washington, D.C. Dr. Speed founded the company called Harmony which serviced nursing care facilities in the Sacramento region in 1996 thru 1998. Dr. Speed began her private practice in Elk Grove in 1996. In 1999, Assemblyman Anthony Pescetti of the 10thAssembly District named her Woman of the Year based on service and dedication to the community. In 2003, the Sacramento Observer presented her with the Medallion of Honor Award for servicing the Sacramento Health and Medical Communities. In 2004 the National Coalition of Black Women, Inc. awarded her for her Health and Community service. Dr. Speed continued to serve the community through various health fairs, in conjunction with U.O.P. School of Dentistry, Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Sacramento Links Inc., and Sacramento District Dental Society (SDDS).
Dr. Speed served as a board member of the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce 1998-2001. Dr. Speed also served as a board member of the Area Women Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Speed is currently a board member of the Dr. Ernest and Arthella Hunter Foundation. Dr. Speed is also members of the Sacramento District Dental Society (SDDS), California Dental Association (CDA), American Dental Association (ADA), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Sacramento California Links Inc.
