The reason why I decided to become a dentist was because I kind of married into dentistry, so to speak. My wife's father is a dentist, her uncles are dentists, and so I was able to have firsthand experience and knowledge of what the dental field had to offer. I was able to witness remarkable transformations in people's health. The most rewarding part of dentistry is just the ability to have a positive impact on somebody's overall wellbeing, somebody's overall health. I finished my undergraduate degree in Lincoln, Nebraska, and then I went to a dental school in Lincoln as well, and I graduated there in 2007. Since then I continue to be very involved in education, take roughly 100 to 200 hours of continuing education per year. A big way it's able to impact is I continue to learn, I visit with and study with dentists and physicians, everybody that I can collaborate with that I know will have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of the patients that we see.
Dr. David Porter has devoted thousands of hours to continuing education so he can offer his patients the latest treatments. Dr. Porter obtained advanced education from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and trained in implant dentistry at the Misch Institute. He continues to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry, taking advanced training courses and lecturing at meetings and workshops nationally to other doctors. A native of Newcastle, WY, he was a high school athlete, participating in football, baseball, and wrestling. He also played baseball in college, where he met his wife, Afton. After marriage, he worked in mining for three years in Nevada and Wyoming, saving to return to dental school in Lincoln, NE.
He was thrilled to return to his home state after earning his DDS. He believes in Gillette and considers it a blessing that he is able to be a part of such a wonderful community. He has seen firsthand how people here give their time and energy to many worthy causes. Dr. Porter feels just as strongly about giving back to the community. He has been a part of multiple dental days where hes given free dental services for people in the community. He also supports other great causes, including local youth programs in everything from intramural sports to junior and high school football, wrestling, and baseball.
Patients in the community and beyond appreciate Dr. Porters great sense of humor and that he gives the same advice on treatment that he would give to his own family. He enjoys playing an integral role in improving not only his patients oral health but their overall health too.
Dr. Porter has been married to Afton for more than 25 years and is an integral part of the lives of their six beautiful children, attending their sporting events and participating in their various other activities. In their free time, he and his family enjoy being outdoors and traveling to the Black Hills for the many activities the area has to offer. He also spends time away from work learning about dentistry and reading.

Well, the thing that namely sets our practice apart is we practice what's called biologic dentistry. And so, biologic dentistry as a foundation in trying to get away from things, chemicals, products that are going to have a negative influence on a patient's health, in a nutshell, is designed to do everything to promote the overall health and wellbeing of the patients that we see. Dr. David Porter graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has devoted hundreds of hours to advanced education so he can offer his patients the latest holistic care. He is the first and only dentist in Wyoming who has completed training in numerous biological treatments and advanced residencies.
Kelsey joined us in 2017 and has worked in dentistry since 2007. She loves helping her patients with their oral and overall health. When not in the office, you can find Kelsey spending time with her family, reading her Bible, working out, or advocating for dTERRA essential oils.
A Gillette native, Lori has worked as a dental hygienist since 2008 and has been with us since 2008. She enjoys making sure our patients have beautiful smiles. In her free time, Lori stays busy with her family and kids activities.
Lyndsey joined our team in 2007 but has worked in dentistry since 2004. She loves helping patients get healthier. Lyndsey is married and has one son. In her spare time, she loves being outdoors, especially camping, hunting, and fishing with her family and friends.
