Dr. Leinen, Dr. Millard and all of the staff at Summit Family Dental are wonderful! My girls actually LOVE to go to the dentist :) We have been seeing Dr. Leinen for many years now and will follow him wherever he goes. Dr. Nate Leinen grew up in Spencer, Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa where he graduated from the College of Dentistry in 2004. While there in 2001 he married his high school sweetheart, Lesa. In 2004 they moved to the Des Moines area and he began practicing in Grimes, Urbandale and Johnston. In 2011, he came to Ankeny and they built a home here in 2014. He and his wife Lesa have 3 amazing daughters, Ava, Autumn and Ambrey. They are very involved in gymnastics, swim team, choir and dance.
Dr. Millard was born and raised in the Des Moines area. Upon graduating from high school he went on to serve in the United States Army Special Operations Command from 1997-2004. After serving, his parents were not surprised that Dr. Millard decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a dentist.
Dr. Millard enjoys the art of dentistry and believes in continuing education. He is honored to have the opportunity to mentor other professionals on new procedures, including his passion for dental implants.
Dr. Millard, his wife Claudia and their children live in Ankeny. In his free time, Dr. Millard volunteers his time helping homeless Veterans.He also enjoys traveling, running, cycling and the outdoors. In the office, Dr. Millard looks forward to providing each patient detailed, personalized and quality care.
Kyla has an extensive background in dental insurance and customer service. She has lived in Ankeny for 20 years. Kyla and her husband Stan enjoy time with their four adult children along with their significant others and grandchildren. In Kylas free time she enjoys reading, taking walks and being in the sun!
McKenzie graduated in 2014 from Vatterott college with her Associate's as a Dental Assistant Specialist. McKenzie grew up in Ankeny and is an Ankeny Hawk alumnus. In 2015 she married her high school sweetheart, Zack. McKenzie started off in our office as a Dental Assistant in 2017 and in 2020 made the move to work front desk and become invested with insurance verification. McKenzie and her husband live in Ankeny and have two Goldendoodles Milo and Franklin; along with two cats Mittens and Severus. In her free time, she enjoys: reading (Harry Potter Nerd), crafting, walking with her husband and dogs, and being with family and friends.
Megan graduated from DMACC in 2001 with her AAS in Dental Hygiene and is licensed to administer local anesthesia. Megan thrives to provide individualized treatment and dental hygiene education to all patients. Megan is involved in the Uptown Ankeny Association where she has owned and operated Therapeutic Massage Center for 23 years. Megan and her husband Brad, enjoy going to music concerts, traveling, Hawkeye sports and Cardinals Baseball. Daughter, Maddy, is 18 years old and will graduate from Ankeny High School in May. Maddy enjoys Competitive Dance and will be attending DMACC in the Nursing program. Megan, Brad and Maddy have 2 pug dogs, Carly and Maizy.
Brinkley graduated from Hawkeye Community College in 2015 with a dental assisting degree and then went on to get her dental hygiene degree from DMACC in 2019. Brinkley has been with Summit Family Dental since they opened in 2016 and has enjoyed watching the team and office grow over the past 6 years. Brinkley strives to provide quality and comfortable care to all of her patients. When Brinkley is not working, she enjoys spending time outside and traveling with her husband Bobby and two little girls Cali and Palmer.
Britni attended DMACC where she received her degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been with Summit Family Dental since October 2021. Her main goal is to make patients feel comfortable at the dental office. In Britnis free time she enjoys the outdoors, cheering on the Cyclones and home improvement or DIY projects. She loves spending time with her husband and their two twin girls and crazy pup.
Kassi has practiced as a Dental Hygienist since she obtained her license in 2012 after graduating from Kirkwood Community College. She also has prior experience in Dental Assisting. She began teaching Dental Hygiene students as an adjunct clinical faculty member at Hawkeye Community College in early 2019 through fall of 2021. She is very passionate about patient focus and education. Kassi enjoys teamwork and helping patients to achieve good oral health, especially in challenging cases. She is also keen to advocate for patients' best interests in treatment relative to oral health goals. Outside of work, Kassi enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and cheering for Iowa Hawkeye sports, especially wrestling. Kassi and her husband, Scott, have two daughters, Maddyn and Lindyn.
Nancy has been a dental assistant for 12 years. She is also certified in expanded functions level 1. Making patients feel comfortable in her care is her #1 priority. She has a 10-year-old son named Liam and has been married to her husband Drew for three years. Nancy also has two fur babies; Parker who is a black lab and a cat named Willie. In Nancys free time she enjoys going to the gym, yoga and going to concerts. Nancy and her family also enjoy taking time to travel.
From our reception area, complete with refreshments, kids play area, and streaming Netflix, to our treatment rooms with the latest technology, you'll notice no detail was overlooked. We even feature an in house lab which offers the convenience of fabricating whitening trays, mouth guards, and retainers, eliminating a long waiting period and lab expenses.
This is a great dentist office! Everyone is so friendly and professional! I had a chipped front tooth and after Dr. Millard was done, you can't tell which tooth was fixed. I'm 65, so I've had a lot of fillings and none look as good as this one! If you are looking for a dentist in Ankeny, you need to go here and tell them Nancy sent you! - Nancy
The people at Summit Dental are the best. The entire staff is friendly and professional. I have gone to Dr. Leinen since we moved here six years ago and he is outstanding. Never been more relaxed in the dentist chair than now and his work is top notch. Could not be happier. - Glenn
