Dr. LaMonica Davis Taylor is a native of Mound Bayou, Mississippi. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Spelman College and her DMD degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. Dr. Taylor completed a one-year general practice residency and a two-year residency specializing in pediatric dentistry at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in Bronx, New York. As a child, Dr. Taylor always knew that she wanted to work in healthcare, and in adulthood she became certain that working with children was her calling. Dr. Taylor has traveled the country over and has participated in and attended various dental programs at institutions such as The University of Texas at Houston, University of California at San Francisco, University of Connecticut, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, New York University, and The University of Mississippi Medical Center. She returned to Mississippi with a passion and energy to provide specialized dental care for children and special-needs adults. She has received advanced training in child psychology, developmental disabilities, and infant oral health. Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Society, and the founder of the LaMonica Davis Foundation. Dr. Taylor is board certified and is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Taylor enjoys teaching and taught at the University of Mississippi Medical Center's School of Dentistry for three years (2015-2018). She has worked in public health in the Mississippi Delta with the Delta Health Center where she was the first and only pediatric dentist in Hollandale, Mississippi. Her general anesthesia affiliations include Merit Health Madison Hospital, Merit Health Central Hospital and Merit Health Rankin Hospital.
Our mission at Smiles on Broadway Dental Care for kids is to provide a comprehensive dental home for infants, children, adolescents, and special-needs adults in a safe and carefree environment. We hope to educate patients and parents about oral health and its importance by encouraging healthy dental habits that will ultimately create sound, beautiful smiles.
