Dr. Ross Shira graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1984. Prior to Dental School, he attended Bowling Green State University. Dr. Shira completed a general practice residency at Miami Vally Hospital immediately after dental school graduation. Dr. Shira has been practicing for over 25 years. He has been in his current location since 1987. Dr. Shira is Past-president of the Dayton Dental Society, and member of the Ohio and American Dental Associations. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Shira has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care.
Judy rejoined our office in 2000 after spending over 10 years here early in her career, and then taking a part- time position in another office while she raised her family. Now that the kids are grown, we are delighted to have her back. Judy brings over thirty years of experience as an Expanded Function Duty Auxillary. This training qualifies her to preform many tasks for patients, thereby freeing Dr. Shira to focus on each patients special needs. Judy's dedication to quality patient care is a great asset to our team.
You are very likely to see Judy outside the office running, biking or hiking the local streets and parks with her husband. She has completed several triathalons and has been an age group champion in many road races. One of her three grown sons is now a practicing dentist in northern Ohio.
Teresa is another 'boomerang employee' who began her career with us then moved to another office to be an office manager. When she decided to return to clinical patient care in 1996 we were very happy to have her rejoin our team. She has also completed the EFDA training and her ability to make all patients feel comfortable in our office wins constant praise.
Teresa is active in dental education and assists the Miami Vally Career Technology Center in developing and maintaining their dental education programs. In additon to these responsibilities, Teresa is busy with her husband and two preteen children. She is very active in Girl Scouting, and her children's sports and school activities.
