Dr. Stanley Allen, Jr. joined the Relax Dental team with over 40 years of general and implant dentistry experience. Dr. Allen places a priority on continuing education to keep up with industry advancements so that he can provide the best dental care to all of his patients.
Education:Dr. Allen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC. He did his general dental practice residency, including serving as chief resident, at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center and Queens Hospital Center Affiliation in New York.
Awards and Organizations:Dr. Allen has been a part of over 20 different professional and continuing education organizations, including the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, and Dental Implant Associates of North Carolina.
Education:Dr.Bacongraduated from Texas A&M University, Magna Cum Laude, with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. Following that, he attended New York University College of Dentistry, graduating as Valedictorian.
Experience:Dr.Baconis a Texas native and relocated to North Carolina following his Air Force military service. He most recently served as the sole sedation specialist in Central California. Dr.Baconjoins the Relax DDS team with unique experiences and strong knowledge in multiple fields of dentistry. He takes much pride in his patient care education and communication and is excited to bring that quality of care to North Carolina to help his patients feel at ease, confident, and have a healthy smile.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr.Baconis with his family and enjoys swimming, tennis, golfing, cooking, and cheering for his Aggie football team. He currently resides in Greensboro, NC with his wife and three kids.

Dr. Bertrand Bonnick has become a leadingNorth Carolina dentist, not just because of the wide range of expert services he provides, but because he gives each patient the special care and attention they deserve. Patients come to Dr. Bonnick from across the state because of the exceptional and compassionate care he provides.
In 2000, after honeymooning with his wife in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, Dr. Bertrand Bonnick fell in love with North Carolina, and decided to relocate to the Triad to raise his family. After 18 years of practicing in New York, Dr. Bonnick bought the practice of Dr. Robert Kriegsman (established in Greensboro since 1962) and started a family general dentistry practice in Greensboro in March of 2004.
In November of 2004, Dr. Bonnick completed the Medical College of Georgias one-year Maxicourse program on dental implantology and became the first dentist in Guilford County to own the Simplant software for virtual implant surgery. Virtual surgery allows the patient and doctor to use a CT scan on a computer to simulate the actual surgery to determine whether the patient is a good candidate for dental implants or if additional grafting of bone would be needed to place implants.
Dr. Bonnick believes that the key to maintaining his position as one of the best dentists in North Carolina is his lifelong commitment to learning and continuing education. By 1992, he had completed over 500 credits of continuing education as well as passing an extensive written examination on all areas of dentistry and was recognized with the Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D.).
In 1982, Dr. Bertrand Bonnick graduated from the State University of New York-Albany cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a combined minor in mathematics and physics. From there, he attended the University of Maryland Dental School (the worlds first dental college), graduating in 1986, and was selected as a Whos Who Scholar for academic achievement and student government leadership.
Knowing that school for dentists could provide only limited experiences, Dr. Bonnick competed for and earned a position in advanced training at Long Island Jewish Hospital Medical Center-QHC. This training included a rotation in the Department of Anesthesiology where he provided sedation for 6-10 patients per day.
After completing his residency program, Dr. Bonnick stayed for a second year of residency, serving as the Chief Resident.He went on to remain as an instructor in the program for 10 years and was votedInstructor of the Yearin 1991 by the dentists he taught in the post-graduate dental program. Despite his many accolades, Dr. Bonnick considers this one of his proudest achievements.
Over his career so far, Dr. Bonnick has achieved Master in the Academy of General Dentistry with over 1100 hours of continuing education. Also became the first North Carolina dentist awarded the Diplomate in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
Dr. Bonnick maintains membership in a number of dental organizations, including the North Carolina Dental Society, the Dental Implant Association of North Carolina, and Diplomate of Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
Dr. James Rafael provided dental services to the Burlington community in his own practice for over 28 years. Now, Dr. Rafael brings his expansive knowledge of general, cosmetic and restorative dentistry to the Relax Dental team.
Education:Dr. Rafael is a New York native and relocated to North Carolina to attend dental school at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. After graduation, he completed a residency in the United States Air Force at Sheppard AFB, Texas.
Experience:Dr. Rafael owned his own dental practice for over 28 years. He joins the Relax team with his experiences and strong knowledge of general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry. He has spent years providing comprehensive preventive dentistry to his patients as well as restorative dentistry to help his patients feel confident and have a healthy smile.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Rafael enjoys golfing, cheering for the NY Mets baseball team, and spending time with his family. He currently resides in Burlington, NC with his fiance and two daughters, Courtney and Kristen.
