D. Shane Ragan, DDS, is a lifelong resident of Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. He attended Indianola High School and after graduation, entered Northeastern State University, Tahlequah where he graduated cum laude with a BS degree in biology in 2002.
University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry Dr Ragan earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006. Following graduation, Dr. Ragan completed a 1 year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry offered by the University of Oklahoma. This included extensive classroom education and treatment of patients using advanced techniques and materials for the placement and restoration of dental implants, treatment and management of patients with dental anxiety and dental phobia, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, advanced cosmetic dentistry (including porcelain veneers and porcelain crowns), and treatment of advanced periodontal disease.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Ragan completed a second 1 year residency offered by the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma City. This residency provided advanced training in all aspects of general practice, including restorative dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral diagnosis, treatment planning, endodontics and exposure to pedodontics and both aspects of implant dentistrysurgery and restoration. A hospital-based program, it provided valuable experience treating medically compromised patients and provided broad knowledge and skills to meet the needs of patients.
After completion of his professional training, Dr. Ragan returned to McAlester in 2009 to establish his dental practice. He enjoys spending free time with his wife Wendy and their son Bryce. He also enjoys working on his familys ranch, and hunting and fishing.
Hunter received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2017. Hunter lives in McAlester with his wife, Brawna and two sons, Tuff and Knox. When not in the office he enjoys hunting and ranching with his family.
