We have provided quality oral care since the 70s, beginning with Dr. John Prince. He made it his job to provide the Wasatch County the finest oral care they could find. Now his son, Dr. David Prince, carries on in his fathers footsteps, doing the name true service. He provides you with high-quality work and explanations of treatments meant to educate you so you can truly make your decisions confidently. Great with parents and children both, Dr. Prince will help you settle into the office and treatment with warmth and complete satisfaction.
The staff are dedicated to their patients and sincere in their desire to get to know you personally. You are more than a case tucked into a manila folder with Prince Dental Group. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a dentist, especially when it means that I can continue my fathers great name in the field. My father worked hard putting in an honest days work each day. I am proud to take up the practice and aim to carry on the practice, now going almost 40 years, at a level of quality that would do my father proud and give my patients the kind of care they expect.
I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Case Western Reserve University and believe strongly that my profession is continually advancing with new technologies and skills over time. I continue to study the newest innovations in implants, sedation, and cosmetics. Also, I believe professional collaboration is one of the most important ways to remain current and am involved in numerous organizations including the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
In the office, I go to lengths to get to know you and make certain you know all the ins and outs of your treatment. I want you to leave confident that your treatment was right for you and knowing how to maintain and even better your oral health.
I love giving back to my community and volunteer at the Health Department monthly. I also care greatly for the state of the world beyond our borders and travel on humanitarian trips to Guatemala once a year. I love being able to directly affect positive change across the globe.
I am married to a wonderful woman and together we raise three children, a dog, and some chickens. I am a huge fan of the outdoors. I may not be a Survivorman, but I do feel at home hunting, fishing, or camping. Especially when I have my family along with me, chickens exempted for numerous reasons.
This process requires using medical means to help rid a patient of fear and anxiety and make them relax before a dental procedure is carried out. Sedation dentistry is sometimes referred to as sleep dentistry, although this description is far from the case. That is because, aside from the IV sedation procedure, all other sedation processes allow the patient to be conscious and relaxed throughout the dental procedure. However, it is still very possible for patients to feel so comfortable that they end up nodding off during treatment. But that is fine!
Sedation dentistry is not needed for everyone, even if going to the dentist makes you feel a little anxious. So, what makes you a candidate? Well, you will first require a physical assessment by your dentist. But if any visit to the dentist fills you with so much panic that youd rather stay home, you should consider calling your dentist for help to know if you would benefit from sedation.
There are mainly three types of sedation process during the dental procedure. The first process is done through the use of nitrous oxide. The second process requires oral sedation, done before the dental procedure. The third process involves an intravenous process of calming the patient and can cause varying stages of consciousness.
