Dr. Blair graduated from Bellingham High School in 1990, in Bellingham, WA. He attended Portland State University and graduated in 1995 with a degree in Biology. In 2000, Dr. Blair graduated from OHSUs School of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
After working for just over a year in Arizona, Dr. Blair moved back to Portland and took over the practice of Dr. Larry Rask in 2001. He has been the sole practitioner of Powell Dental, until the spring of 2021.
Dr. Blair and his staff regularly volunteer with Medical Teams International providing local services and working in mobile dental van which serve low-income children and adults in the community. In addition, Powell Dental annually opens the office to Compassion Southeast, an organization that provides care for the under-insured residents of Southeast Portland.
Dr. Bueso was born and raised on a small family run farm in rural northern California. Seeking a bigger community, she moved to the Portland metro area in 2008 to attend Pacific University's Dental Hygiene program. After four years of expanded practice in dental hygiene, she met her now husband, Antonio, an Emergency Medicine Physician. The two put together a plan for Dr. Bueso to pursue her doctorate in dental surgery in the opportunity state of Texas. Dr. Bueso complete her post-baccalaureate requirements at Portland State University, and then Abilene Christian University before being accepted into The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. In Houston Dr. Bueso showed deeper interest and invested her time to research in the areas of Endodontics and Periodontal surgery. Her total dedication to her studies awarded her the top honor and induction into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) and she was the top ranked girl, graduating 3rd in her class. After 6 years in Texas, the Buesos were excited to return home to Portland. Prior to joining our team Dr Bueso has been practicing general dentistry in the city of Gladstone. In her spare time, she can be found outdoors with her two German Shorthaired Pointers, Monte (Old Faithful) and Pepper (Pepita).
When we asked her, why she chose dentistry, she responded with the following:I have had my own fair share of needing to rely on dentists and dental specialists. Because of my own ordeals, I have extra vigor towards my practice and continuing education. I believe in the power of quality dentistry and I am passionate about being able to make it a positive experience for my patients. I love working hard to win people over who have had previous negative experiences and to exceed their expectations with beautiful and functional dentistry.

Aliesha grew up in southern Oregon on her family ranch. She relocated to Portland 10 years ago. She has worked in dentistry for 6 of those years, starting out as a dental assistant working in pediatrics. She graduated from the PCC dental hygiene program in 2014 and has been with our office ever since. She is very passionate about dental hygiene and patient care.
Sharika was born and raised in Portland, spending most of her formative years growing up on beautiful Mt. Hood. She graduated in 2003 with a BS in Dental Hygiene from Lima Linda University School of Dentistry. After graduating and before moving back to the Pacific NW, she practiced hygiene in Southern California.
When she is not working, Sharika grows specialty cut flowers on her property in the Columbia River Gorge and uses them to design for weddings and events. She also spends time coaching her kids soccer and basketball teams, as well as camping, hiking, paddle boarding, playing volleyball and going on as many outdoor adventures as possible with her two boys and their Australian Shepherd dog Jasper.
Katherine enjoys working at Powell Dental because it is a warm and friendly office. She feels that the patients here are pleasantly surprised to feel at home and well cared for when they come to Powell Dental.
Veronica has been working at Powell Dental since 2019. Before she was recruited to train and become a dental assistant, she worked for the Blair family as their nanny. In her free time, she loves to cook, spend time with her dog Maizy, and hang out with friends and family. She says that working at Powell Dental has been an amazing experience and looks forward to many more wonderful years with this awesome team.
Aside from work and school, she loves hanging out with family as she is a very family oriented person and loves spending time with her friends too. She is also the biggest foodie. She loves trying and eating all kinds of food. Although is a vegetarian she finds she can eat almost anything anywhere she goes. She has the biggest sweet tooth - ice cream tops the list of her favorite desserts. She also tries to live that jet setter life. She loves traveling and exploring new cities/countries. She loves the Portland Trail Blazers and is Damian Lillard's biggest fan! She has a mini labradoodle named Koda.During her free time she enjoys baking, hiking, and most importantly catching up on sleep.
Nora came to Powell Dental with 10+ years of office experience and an eagerness to learn about the dental world. She has been working for Powell Dental since 2010 and has learned so much. She feels that Dr. Blair and the staff at Powell Dental are truly wonderful and loads of fun to work with they laugh every day!
Corinn is a Portland native and has been with Powell Dental since 2015. She started in the dental field as an assistant, working with orthodontics then moved on to working with children in a pediatric office. After assisting for the last 8 years , she has now moved up to the front office.
She loves being a part of such an amazing team, with Dr. Blair who creates not only a great work environment, but also an inviting and caring place. She laughs every day and had never enjoyed a job so much.
April was raised by a dentist and has been in the field her entire life. She came to Powell Dental in 2015 bringing in over 30 years of experience working both in front and chair side. She loves the positive and fun atmosphere!
As a native Ohioan, she moved to Oregon in 1978 and has called it home since. She is an avid quilter, loves to garden, and rings in her Church's handbell choir. She is mother to two, Brian and Madeline, as well as the family's cats.
Arrow is a Border Collie/Lab mix. She loves having a job to do and always wants to stay busy. She runs with kids riding bikes and playing outside. If there is nothing else to do she will chase shadows and reflections on sunny days. In the winter she loves torun on our treadmill to stay active.
