Dr. Jorge Ramirez obtained his bachelors degree in chemistry from Florida International University. He went on to the University of Florida, where he received his dental degree as well as his advanced training in periodontics and implant dentistry. He went on after graduation to pass his written and oral boards to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. A Diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Academy of Periodontology.
He maintains membership in several local and national dental organizations including the American Dental Association, the Florida Association of Periodontists, the South Florida District Dental Society, the American College of Dentists and the American Academy of Periodontology. He is the past president of the South Florida District Dental Association and the immediate past president of the Florida Association of Periodontists. He is also a visiting clinical instructor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry and has lectured to dental associations on periodontics, implants and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Kristian Poventud graduated from The University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus earning his D.M.D. Following graduation, he finished a two-year General Residency program at The Montefiore Hospital in New York. He completed his post-doctoral advanced training in Periodontics at the Veterans Affairs New York Health Harbor and New York University (NYU) in Manhattan. Upon graduation, he received The Dennis Tarnow Award for Clinical Excellence. Dr. Poventud is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association, as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Cristina was born in Lima, Peru. She came toSouth Floridaas a student and obtained a degree in accounting from the University of Miami in 1990. When not at the office, Cristina enjoys spending time with her husband and her three children.
Sharon has been a Dental Assistant and Implant Coordinator for our practice since 1986. Her responsibilities include assisting thedoctorschairside and overseeing the ordering and purchasing of dental supplies for our practice.Sharon plays a pivotal role in assisting our referring doctors with questions regarding the restoration of dental implants. As a highly experienced surgical assistant, Sharon shares the practices commitment to extraordinary patient care and dedication to patient well-being.
Sharon was born in Trinidad and Tobago, raised in New Jersey, and has lived in Miami since 1985. Sharon is amother of two, wholoves boating, reading, hitting the gym and exploring South Floridas restaurant scene. She is also a devoted football fan and tennis aficionado.
Carolina has been a dental assistant since 1998. She has 20 years of periodontal surgery and general dentistry experience. She brings many years of chair side surgical assisting and is well versed and cross trained in front office responsibilities as well. She is certified in taking digital x-rays. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Carolina was born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Long Island, New York. She moved to Miami in 2001.She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and 2 children. She also enjoys going to baseball and football games with her family.
Isabel joined our practice in 1987. She has a genuine sensitivity for patient care and has developed lasting relationships by promoting health and wellness through her work as a dental hygienist. She has been a registered dental hygienist since 1981, when she graduated from the Santa Fe College in Gainseville with an Associate in Science degree in dental hygiene. She is responsible for providing active periodontal treatment to our patientsincluding scaling and root planing procedures and maintenance therapy. Isabel has received training and certification in the administration of local anesthetics and nitrous oxide sedation. She possesses 32 years of experience in the dental field, of which 26 years have been in our practice.
Elena has been a dental hygienist with ourpracticesince 2003.Elena graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associates of Science degreein Dental Hygiene in 1988 and has been practicing eversince.She provides periodontal treatment for our patients in the form ofscaling and root planing and maintenance care.With over 24 years of experience in both general and periodontal practices, she plays a crucial role in helping our patients establish and maintain optimal oral health. Elena is now certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation.
Elena is a first generation American of Spanish heritage. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She was born in Connecticut, but raised in South Florida. When away from work, Elena enjoys spending time with her husband of 24 years and her three sons.
Joan became a member of our team in 1997.She acquired her Associate of Science degree in 1995 from Miami Dade College.She provides periodontal maintenance therapy, scaling and root planing proceduresand implant care. Joan has a combined 24 years of experience as a hygienist and has worked in both general dentistry and periodontal offices. She makes certain each patient is treated with care and ensures that their needs are addressed to help them maintaina healthy smile that will last a lifetime.
Joan is fluent in English and Spanish,and is certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. Joan continues to further her knowledge through yearly CE courses in order to provide her patients with thehighest quality ofcare. When she is not at the office,she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two sons.
Jeylin joined our practice as a Treatment Coordinator with 5 years of experience in the dental field. She is currently studying to become a health administrator. Jey thrives on providing exceptional customer service and bringing a smile to our patients faces.

Priscilla was born and raised in Lima, Peru and came to Miami with her two children in 2003. When she is not working at Perio Solutions, she likes to enjoy time with her family as well as baking for relaxation.
