Dr. John Acosta is a board-certified pediatric dentist who hasmore than 20 years of experience. He attended the University of Tennessee atMartin, and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis. He also graduated from dental school atthe U.T. College of Dentistry. He completed his pediatric residency there, as well.
Dr. Acosta is a member of the American Dental Association andthe Tennessee Dental Society, and has held leadership positions in the Memphis Dental Society. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Tennessee Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Todd Smith is a board-certified pediatric dentist with more than five years of both teaching and practicing the specialty. He is a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he received his Bachelor of Science in biology. Dr. Smith was accepted into the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and completed his training in 2007.
During his studiesin dental school, Dr. Smith received numerous honors for both academic and clinical accomplishments. He became a full-time faculty member at the college of dentistry because of his passion for teaching students. Dr. Smith went on to complete a pediatric dentistry residency in 2010. He is also very active in organized dentistry, being a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, National Dental Association, and the Special Care Dentistry Association.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Harris completed dental school and pediatric dental residency at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. During his residency, he received two additional years of specialized, hands-on training in preparation for meeting the unique needs of infants, children, and teens. This extensive training included working with children with special needs, sedation dentistry, and hospital- based dentistry at LeBonheur Children's Hospital and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Dr. Harris is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and believes in evidence-based dentistry. This philosophy integrates the most current, clinically relevant evidence with the patients needs and preferences, and results in a scientific approach to understanding your child and his or her needs. Dr. Harris also believes in positive reinforcement and modern behavior management strategies that encourage your child to participate in and enjoy improving his or her oral health.
In addition to a Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. Harris possesses a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Tulane University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern University.
