Dr. Jmi Lilinoe Bassett Asam was born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. She grew up on the Windward side in Kahaluu. After graduating as Salutatorian from Kamehameha Schools in 1997, Dr. Asam attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Immediately following graduation from college, she went on to earn her degree in dentistry. In 2005, Dr. Asam graduated Cum Laude with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the first female resident of Hawaii and also native Hawaiian to graduate from the prestigious Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Following her D.M.D. degree, Dr. Asam attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for three years of additional specialty training in Advanced Prosthodontics. With this extra training, Dr. Asam is able to utilize state-of-the-art techniques to handle even the most complex of patients. She is able to provide patients comprehensive dental treatment options involving dental implants, extractions, partials, dentures, fillings, crowns, bridges and able to provide the majority of this treatment in her office. She has placed and restored over 1,000 dental implants.
