Dr. Stephen Ely trained at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, where he received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. He graduated first in his class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He stayed on at Harvard to complete his Master of Medical Science and specialty training in orthodontics. During his seven years at Harvard, Dr. Ely received extensive training in medicine, dentistry, and the orthodontic treatment of children and adults.
Dr. Ely earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. He graduated as valedictorian of his class and earned Academic All-American honors as a member and captain of the wrestling team.
Prior to starting his practice in Bethlehem, Dr. Ely worked for six years as a partner in a large orthodontic office in Danvers, MA. He is a clinical instructor of orthodontics at Harvard University and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Ely is also a member of the Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Lehigh Valley Dental Society, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Ely moved to Bethlehem to be nearer to his parents and open his own practice. He resides in Bethlehem with his wifeHertaand their son George. In addition to practicing orthodontics, Dr. Ely enjoys martial arts, weightlifting, cycling, cooking, fishing, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox!
I am one of Dr. Elys chairside assistants, and work to help put braces on, change wires, take X-rays and photographs, and bond loose brackets. I love getting to know our patients on a personal level and watching as they progress throughout their treatments with confidence. In the time Ive been with this office, its been great to see the transformation of our patients smiles and the confidence it gives them. My husband, Aaron, and I have one son named Jack and a daughter named Ella. I love volunteering for my childrens sports and activities.
I joined OLV in 2009, and brought with me over 20 years of experience in orthodontics. Ive really enjoyed getting to meet so many people and making such a huge difference in their lives. Dr. Ely is a great person and an awesome doctor. The team here gets along really well and it's a fun atmosphere for patients. I love my job, and when Im not here, I love my family and spending my time shoe shopping!

I worked as a chairside assistant for nine years before transitioning to the front desk, so I have the experience needed to fill both positions whenever needed. The best part of my job is watching the transformations that patients go through, and seeing how excited they are with their end results. I enjoy working with my team because everyone gets along well and we are all here to help each other. We are friends inside and out of work, too! I am married and have three children: Jaxsen, Benjamin, and Hillary. I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and going to the beach in the summertime.
