Dr. W.K. Morgan is a North Carolina native. He is a graduate of Newberry College with a B.S. in natural sciences. He graduated from the U.N.C. School of Dentistry in 1959. He then served two years active duty in the US Navy Dental Corps and was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station, New River. After his assignment there, he opened his private practice in Jacksonville in 1961.
Among his honors are distinguished services, and awards from the Dental Foundation and the Dental Society of N.C. He is also a Fellow in the Academy of General dentistry, American College, and International College, and a member of the Federation of Dentistry International.
He served on the Board of Directors for Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, is a member of Jacksonville City Council, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Chair of Board, Finances, Staff Parish and Stewardship, as well as district lay leader. He has also served on the UNC Board of Governors. These are just a few of the activities Dr. Morgan has been involved with through his career.
Dr. Thomas Morgan Dr. Thomas Morgan is an Onslow County native and son of Dr. Kenneth Morgan. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a B.A. in political science in 1984. He then attended and graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1988. Dr. Morgan met Dr. Kim Morgan in Chapel Hill in 1985, and they were married in July 1991. They have been in private practice in Jacksonville ever since.
Dr. Morgan has been active in professional organizations. He has served as president of the Onslow County Dental Society, the Fifth District of the North Carolina Dental Society, and has served as president of the North Carolina Academy of General Dentistry. He has also been inducted into the American College of Dentists.
Having a strong sense of stewardship, Dr. Morgan has also been involved in delivering care through several community clinics and dental mission trips to Haiti, Jamaica, and Honduras. He is the proud father of two sons, Evans and Davis. Dr. Morgan is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Dr. Kimberly pursued a career in the dental profession from an early age. While still in high school, she worked as a part-time dental assistant. Later, she graduated from Temple Universitys dental hygiene program with honors. She pursued a degree in dental auxiliary teaching at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and pursued doctoral studies at Baltimore College of Dental Surgery (the University of Maryland School of Dentistry), graduating with honors from both. After graduation, she married Dr. Thomas Morgan and moved to Jacksonville, where they have been in private practice together since.
Dr. Morgan has been very active in professional organizations, having served as president of the Onslow County Dental Society, the Fifth District Dental Society of North Carolina, and has served on the dental advisory board at Coastal Carolina Community College. She has also been a part-time instructor at Coastal Carolina Community College, and helped with community-based sealant clinics and dental mission teams to Jamaica. Dr. Morgan enjoys time with her family and is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Dr. Whitney Carraway Mitchell is a native of Eastern North Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from East Carolina University in 2004. She attended Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, where she received her DMD degree in 2009.
Dr. Mitchell is a member of the American Dental Association, the NC Dental Society, and the Onslow County Dental Society. She currently serves as the dentist member of the Jones County Board of Health.
Dr. Martin Baker is a native of Onslow County and a graduate of Richlands High School. From 2007-2011, Dr. Baker attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology. After his undergraduate education, Dr. Baker pursued his dental degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where he graduated with honors in 2015.
Dr. Baker enjoys all aspects of the outdoors from teeing it up on the golf course to spending time out on the water. Dr. Baker is devoted to spending time with his wife, Emily, and family, and regularly attends Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
Dr Gabare lives in Jacksonville, and in addition to being the full-time department head and an instructor for the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs at Coastal Carolina Community College, Dr. Gabare treats patients at our Jacksonville office one day a week.
Dr. Gabare holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, and a Master of Education with a concentration in higher education administration from Northeastern University. Dr. Gabare chose to earn his Master of Education degree so that he could further his ability to be a catalyst of thought and influence for our nations next generation of allied dental healthcare professionals.
