Dr. Dao earned her Doctorate from the prestigious UCLA School of Dentistry, where she was the recipient of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Award, Excellence in Esthetic Dentistry Award, the Section of Advanced Prosthodontics Award and the Section of Endodontics Award. Following graduation, she entered a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Sepulveda hospital treating the fine men and women who fought for our great country.
Dr. Dao believes that a smile highlights a persons best personality and is therefore, unique for each individual. She constantly strives to help her patients attain their perfect smile. In order to do so, she has taken many continuing education courses in esthetic dentistry and orthodontics. Dr. Dao is a certified Invisalign (invisible braces) provider and a Lifetime member in the United States Dental Institute Orthodontic Program. She also holds membership in the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), the San Gabriel Valley Dental Society (SGVDS) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Dr. Refela is a native of Los Angeles, California. She graduated magna cum laude Honors from UCLA, where she earned her BS degree in Biochemistry. She continued her studies and entered UCLA School of Dentistry with Deans Honor Scholarship, and later earned her doctorate. She was the recipient of the prestigious Academy of Operative Dentistry Award. She published a two part article in the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, regarding conservative and esthetic restorative prosthetic technique.
Following graduation, Dr. Refela earned an advanced training certificate of General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Long Beach hospital. She received additional training in Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery, Implant dentistry, and Endodontics.
Dr. Refela has served as part-time clinical faculty member at her alma mater, UCLA, where she provided additional training to the residents of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Venice Dental Center.
Dr. Refela is passionate about putting her patients at ease and providing them with excellent, conservative treatment choices. It is her priority to listen to their concerns and clearly explain her diagnosis and treatment options, so that together they can decide on the treatment plan that is right for them.
Dr. Peter Refela is a board-certified periodontist. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in neuroscience from UCLA. He finished at the top of his class with honors at UCLA School of Dentistry. He continued his training at UCLA through a Periodontics and Implant Surgery Residency. He is currently very active in the field of periodontics and is a fellow member of the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, Western Society of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association).
As a doctor, he is conservative, gentle, and attentive to patients overall health and needs. He encourages patient participation and enjoys informing the patient with step-by-step treatment plans and at-home oral health care. His area of expertise is in implant placement, treating periodontal bone loss, and treating recession with soft tissue grafts. He enjoys traveling with his wife, serving and teaching in his church diocese, playing the oud, reading classical literature, and playing with his nieces.
Dr. Cynthia Au Yeung is an oral surgeon. She graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2005. She completed a General Practice Residency at UCLA Medical Center in 2006 and oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at USC in 2007. She graduated from USC Keck School of Medicine in 2010. She completed another internship in general surgery in 2011 and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in 2013. She spends time reviewing patients medical history thoroughly to prepare for surgery and going over treatment options to increase patient comfort. Her expertise is wisdom teeth extraction.
Dr. Leshin Chenis a board-certified periodontist. He graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a degree inmicrobiology and molecular genetics. He continuedhis training at UCLA School of Dentistry, where he completed his DDS degree and specialty residency in periodontics and dental implant surgery.
His professional affiliations include memberships in the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, Los Angeles Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental HonorSociety, and Phi Beta Kappa HonorSociety. Recognizing an important need for community service, he is an active volunteer forthe 'Give KidsASmile' program.
Dr. Selina Chan is an endodontist (root canal therapy specialist). She received her DDS degree from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2005 and continued her specialty training in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2007. In addition, Dr. Chan has teaching experience and is an instructor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine Department of Endodontics, where she does microsurgery training and microendodontic training. Her professional memberships include San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, American Association of Endodontists, Epsilon Zeta Chapter, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association
Dr. Chan is very conservative and informs her patients of the best treatment options in their specific case. She is very detailed and completes all her root canal therapy under the microscope. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two adorable sons.
