McCarty Children’s Dentistry

Dr. Ross McCarty is a Meridian native who is so excited to return home to do what he has dreamed of: work with his dad! While growing up in Meridian, Ross was an active member of his church, played youth sports (basketball and golf are his favorite), and earned his Eagle Scout. Ross went to Mississippi College where he studied Biology with the intention of being a dentist. While he was a college student he participated in a mission trip to Mexico with a team of dentists, and during that trip he truly knew he was being called to dentistry. Ross attended the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in Charleston, South Carolina where he earned his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry. While a dental student, he was president of the Pediatric Dentistry Club and directed extra-curricular service opportunities through the peer-elected leadership positions he held

After graduation, Ross moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where he worked exclusively with children for the three and a half years living there. Ross has been extensively trained in pediatric behavior management, oral pathology, and dental sedation, including well over 100 hours of study in this area. He is an associate member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association, and Meridian Area Dental Society

Dr. McCarty is thankful he has been able to use dentistry to serve those who need it most at home and abroad through organized dental service programs in Mississippi and South Carolina, and 5 mission trips to Mexico and Haiti

Dr. Britt McCarty will tell you he has the greatest job in the world! He truly loves and enjoys being with children and he gets to be with them all day in his pediatric dental office. Some of his most rewarding moments are when an apprehensive child undergoes a dental procedure and sits up to give him a big smile and a hug. Dr. Britt feels that is one of the most important parts of your child’s dental visit. This love and concern for your child will be the atmosphere you will find at his office

Dr. McCarty can see looking back how God was preparing him for a career in Pediatric Dentistry. Through his educational experience and studies at Mississippi College and the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, God’s hand was leading him to a Pediatric Dental Residency at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio

Dr. Britt McCarty is the first Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in Meridian and the East Mississippi and West Alabama areas. Treating children with care, compassion and kindness brings great joy to his life. He also enjoys the lasting relationship with families and seeing his patients grow. Now, he has the joy of seeing the children of patients! Awesome! Another great joy is serving on mission trips to deliver dental care to those who are in need. He has participated in over 20 medical/dental mission trips to Honduras, Central Mexico and Haiti, in addition to local mission opportunities. Each opportunity is a time to share the love of Christ by meeting dental needs

Dr. McCarty is actively involved at Highland Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. He has also coached in youth basketball and baseball leagues. Currently, he is troop master of the Trail Life troop in Meridian

Blessed with a wonderful wife, Amy, and six children, Dr. McCarty is excited to work with his son Ross to continue to deliver the highest quality dental care possible to the children of East Mississippi and West Alabama
