Dr. Shaun Mayatte grew up in the Crossgates neighborhood and attended Brandon High School. After studying at Hinds Community College, he graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. In 2000, Dr. Mayatte graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. He then practiced in Columbia and Jackson, Mississippi for several years before coming home to Brandon to open Mayatte Family Dentistry. He has completed training at the Misch International Implant Institute as well as courses in complex restorative dentistry from Frank Spear at the Scottsdale Center for Advanced Dental Education and Howard Chasolen at the Chasolen Centre in Sarasota, Florida. He is currently working on his mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is a member of the Mississippi Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Mayatte and his wife, Claire, live in Brandon with their two daughters, Audrey and Paige. They are members of First Baptist Church of Brandon. When not practicing dentistry, he loves spending time in the great outdoors by either training for a triathlon, hunting whatever is in season or fishing with Claire and the girls.
Dr. Claire Pugh Mayatte grew up in Louin, Mississippi in Jasper County. She attended Mississippi College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology then continued on to the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry from which she graduated in 2004. Dr. Claire practiced in Flowood, Mississippi before coming to Mayatte Family Dentistry in 2007. She and her husband, Shaun, are raising their two girls, Audrey and Paige, in Brandon and are members of First Baptist Church of Brandon. When not taking care of her patients or family, she loves fishing, reading, planting flowers or baking something sweet.
Dr. Burke grew up in the Brandon community and attended Brandon High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Mississippi College. She then went on to complete her education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. Dr. Burke is a member of the Mississippi Dental Association, American Dental Association, Mississippi Association for Women Dentists and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Burke is currently enrolled in a course through the Academy of Gp Orthodontics where she is learning the practice of orthodontics using the Differential Straight Arch Technique. This comprehensive course will allow our patients to have orthodontic treatment completed in our office.
Dr. Burke is married to Thad Burke and together, they have a son, Sawyer Bridges Burke. In her spare time, Dr. Burke enjoys cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels, spending time with her family and friends and completing her latest Pinterest project. She and her family reside in Brandon and are members of Pinelake Church Reservoir.
Melissa has been a dental hygienist for the last 11 years after earning her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2003. She was raised in Greenville and her husband is from Vicksburg. They reside in Brandon with their 10 year old dog Gabby. In her spare time Melissa enjoys baking and being crafty.
As a member of the Mayatte Family Dentistry team for the last 2 years, Teresas goal is to help her patients maintain good oral health and achieve their healthy, beautiful smiles. After attending Brandon High School, Teresa continued her education at The University of Mississippi Medical Center earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2011. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists Association.
One of our longest serving employees, Amanda has been with Mayatte Family Dentistry for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2002. Amanda loves getting to know her patients and ensuring that they always have a positive enriching experience at MFD.
Amanda is married to Patrick Grissom and together they have two children, Kaylee and Kolt. In her spare time Amanda enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She is also a member of Crossgates Baptist Church.
