Less than a century ago, the field of orthodontics was thought to be entirely unnecessary cosmetic treatment and children and adults alike rarely visited the dentist unless they had a serious oral health concern. Today, orthodontics is recognized as a necessary specialty within oral health care and patients of all ages are encouraged to visit the dentist two times each year. At Dr. Matt Nasheds Arcadia and Long Beach children's dentistry and orthodontics offices, we offer dental care that grows with kids and orthodontic treatments for patients of all ages in a friendly, state-of-the-art practice.
We are proud to be both an orthodontic and a children's dental office. This gives our team the gift of delivering multifaceted, comprehensive care for full families. We pride ourselves on our patient-centered model of dental care that spans all ages and needs.
We use only the most advanced dental technology, including the iTero Intraoral Scanner. This device allows us to have the most accurate rendering of your teeth available in just seconds. This negates the need for messy, uncomfortable impressions, ensuring your comfort and convenience.
Our approach to complete dental care starts from the first year of life. We love performing first pediatric dental visits that get our patients ready for a lifetime of healthy smiles. Dr. Matt Nashed, Dr. John Khalaf and their talented dental team are looking forward to treating you and your family for years to come.
Dr. Matt Nashed is a native of Cairo, Egypt and graduated from Cairo Dental College in 1985. Both of Dr. Nashed's parents are dentists. Dr. Nashed's father is a general practitioner and his mother is a Professor Emeritus at Cairo Dental College. While in Egypt, Dr. Nashed practiced as a general dentist for 6 years with his father.
To further his education and expertise, Dr. Nashed received an additional dental degree from the University of Tennessee in 1995, which has the equivalent reputation in the South as USC does in the West. He was ranked second in his class of eighty students and graduated with high honors.
Since Dr. Nashed especially enjoyed working with children, he decided to gain more experience as a pediatric dental resident at the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. During his two-year residency, he had the opportunity to do some interceptive orthodontic therapy, which he thoroughly enjoyed. So much so that he decided to become an orthodontic specialist and started the three-year graduate orthodontic program at the University of Tennessee. In 1998, Dr. Nashed graduated and received his Masters Degree in Orthodontics.
Because of Dr. Nashed's experience in both general and children's dentistry and his dedication to learning and research, he was recognized and honored with five awards for excellence. He was further honored by his election into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the prestigious honor society limited to the top 10 percent of the graduating class.
