I feel so lucky to be able to work with my husband in private practice, and to be back in Greeley, serving this great community! After graduating from University High School here in Greeley (back in the 90s), I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in Biology and Chemistry and then the University of Nebraska Medical Centers College of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in Lincoln, Nebraska. After dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at Hennepin County Medical Center In Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was a great opportunity to expand my dental experience while focusing on oral surgery and medically-compromised patient care.
Since being in practice, Ive taken hundreds of hours of continuing education. This has included, but not been limited to, completing the Dawson Academy Curriculum, courses on mild sedation for patient comfort, clinical improvement for endodontics, surgery, and full-mouth restoration.
I enjoy many aspects of dentistry. I particularly enjoy getting people out of pain, exceeding patients expectations, and being able to treat patients of all ages and entire families. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my kids and husband. We love being outdoors hiking, skiing, camping or running. I love to read whenever I get the chance, cheering on my boys at their many hockey games, or cheering on the Denver Broncos, when they are having a decent year.
It is a pleasure to serve the Greeley community alongside my wife, Dr. Kami Marr. I grew up in Southern Ohio and Western Nebraska andmoved back to Greeley in 2007. This is a wonderfully friendly and welcoming region. I appreciate the opportunity to get to know our patients and families on a personal level while helping each person achieve the dental health and smile they desire.
I attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, in Lincoln, where I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). Following dental school, I completed a rigorous General Practice Residency through the University of Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha. The residency provided numerous opportunities for me to hone certain skills and expand others. I was exposed to many different, complex dental situations, including providing oral health care for immuno-compromised individuals.
One of the most interesting aspects of dentistry, to me, is how the field is constantly advancing. Research leads to new materials, techniques, and technologies, all of which improve patient care and results. I stay at the forefront of these developments through continuing education (CE).
Since completing dental school and my residency, I have actively sought-out courses and programs that keep me abreast of emerging trends and proven practices. In addition to the Dawson Academy Curriculum, I am an active member of the Seattle Study Club, and regularly take advantage of CE offerings through professional oral healthcare organizations.
As a result of my commitment to continual learning, I have been designated a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). This designation is held by only 6% of general dentists in the United States and Canada.
I enjoy working with patients of all ages, each with different experiences to relate, as well as unique dental needs and desires. While I deeply appreciate all aspects of general dentistry, I am specifically interested in restorative care (prosthodontics), including full-mouth reconstruction, and aesthetic treatment. It is rewarding to restore a tooth or teeth, and in doing so improve the persons bite and function, along with boosting their comfort with their appearance. Those healthy, bright, and pleasing smiles are incredible!
Outside our dental practice, my favorite times are spent with my wife, our two sons, and our family dog. I love the outdoors and take advantage of all this area offers: fly-fishing, pheasant hunting, and camping chief among them.
We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.
