Successful dental care involves the patient and the doctor working as a team with the doctor discussing options with patients and the patient choosing the treatment that works best for them. If the doctor and patient work together to have a plan for preventive and proactive care, the patient can look forward to a lifetime of healthy teeth and healthy smiles. Having family members who have dealt with the debilitating pain of TMJ/TMD problems, as well as having lost family members to the complications associated with obstructive sleep apnea, Dr. Steve has focused on these two critical areas where medicine and dentistry overlap and so many are in need of help.
My mission in dentistry is to serve as a source of information for my patients so they can make informed choices about the treatment they feel is best for them. I am committed to helping patients realize that their mouths and their teeth do not exist in a vacuum. Todays research is clear that disease in the mouth can negatively affect the entire body and vice versa. I want to erase the idea that dentistry is separate from medicine and help people realize that they need a healthy mouth to have a healthy body. When dentistry is viewed as a part of the greater whole of healthcare, dentistry can save lives and change lives. I focus on the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and snoring with dental appliances as well as the treatment of craniofacial pain disorders, headaches, migraines, and TMJ/TMD. Tens of millions of Americans suffer from these disorders, often needlessly, due to the lack of access and availability of dentists expert in treating these conditions. At Lasting Smiles, we are committed to providing the most comprehensive and highest quality treatment in a compassionate and caring setting.

When I was in 9th grade, I decided I wanted to be a dental assistant. Growing up in a family with medical needs, I have always had the desire to take care of people. I have had my fair share of dental treatment but have never had a fear of the dentist. My career allows me to be a comfort to people with fear or anxiety. Most people fear the dentist, not the assistant. I always offer a hand to hold and an ear to listen. I love the trust people have in me when overcoming their fears. July of 2020 was my 20th year as a dental assistant and I couldnt imagine doing anything else.
