Growing up in South Korea, Dr. Lee knew that his parents would have a say in his future career path. His father suggested that Dr. Lee consider becoming a dentist. Sadly, his father passed away not long after the family moved to Chicago. Dr. Lee wanted to honor his fathers wishes as well as be able to provide for his family, so he chose dentistry as his career.
In 1980, Dr. Lee graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then moved on to theUniversity of Illinois College of Dentistry. Acclimating to a new language and culture while in college proved challenging, and he spent much of his time studying. He earned his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 1984.
With over 30 years in practice, Dr. Lee enjoys this rewarding profession. It makes my day when patients tell me theyre happy with their results. Hes constantly learning more to adapt to the needs of his patients, furthering his education and honing his ability to provide excellent dental care.
The postgraduate training he has undertaken includes instruction from the renowned Dr. Thomas Basta at theFoundation for Advanced Continuing Education(FACE). There, Dr. Lee learned the importance of considering the entire mouth and looking at a patients health holistically to develop a treatment plan. He also received specialized instruction at Mid-Continent Orthodontics and the Misch Implant Institute.
Happily married, Dr. Lee and his wife have three beautiful children. He recently took up piano, intending to become skilled enough to play a duet with his wife, who is a talented musician. Pop and classical songs are both in Dr. Lees repertoire, though he doesnt see as much progress as hed like in his skill level! Hes also active in local charities, feeling it is important to give back and stay involved in our community.
