As a dentist, my greatest reward comes from the fact that I can use my knowledge and skills to help relieve a patients pain or discomfort and return their mouth back to original form and function, giving them not just a beautiful smile, but excellent oral health. Being able to serve my patients in this manner, and getting to know them in the process, makes each day at the office a pleasure to me. Whether a patient is coming in for an exam or more intensive treatment, I am glad to see them and honored that they have chosen our practice for their care. I love the opportunity to meet such interesting people and their families and look forward to their visits and seeing the progress we have made.
I am a staunch believer in continuing education for any professional, but especially for those in the oral healthcare field. Constant developments in technologies, treatments and treatment options, and processes means better experiences and outcomes for my patients, but only if I learn about them. I want to do things the right way and the best way, because only then do I know I am providing the best care for my patients. Therefore, I seek out continuing education offerings through conferences, lectures, and seminars. I have completed several courses through the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry, including tissue grafting and sedation dentistry.
I recently completed the Oregon Implant Maxi-course, which consists of 300 hours of implant training, taught by some of the pioneers of implant dentistry and other renowned implant dentists. Currently, I am in the process of completing the Advanced Implant Maxi-course. I have also applied to become an associate fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, which gives me greater access to the knowledge of skilled, experienced doctors.
I grew up in Portland, but now call Bend, OR my home. My wife Stefanie and our children, Eli, Paige, and Avery, and I love living in the high desert. When Im not caring for my patients or studying, I spend every minute I can with my family. We love to ski, hike, bike, and go on adventures. Being outside and together is important for all of us. I also support the Bend South Little League, am active with Volunteers in Medicine, and in our churchs youth group, too.
I work primarily behind the scenes at our practice, supporting our team and helping them provide a great experience for our patients. I handle our advertising and branding, accounts receivable, and financial management. I count myself lucky that I work with my husband, Dr. Keldsen. And while I might be a little bit biased, I think hes a great dentist!
We have three children and love being outdoors and active. Bend is such a beautiful place and there are so many opportunities to be outside, enjoying all that the area has to offer. As a family, we are crazy about skiing, hiking, biking, baseball, soccer, and volleyball.
Dr. Christopher Keldsen and our team of dental professionals strive to ensure that our patients always know they are important to us. We work hard to see to it that they are comfortable and relaxed when visiting our practice. That special touch begins when you first walk through our doors and are welcomed, by name. Youll be invited to have a seat in our inviting reception areas, where we offer complimentary beverages.
Your wait will not be long, as we run on time and do not over-schedule patients. We know your time is valuable and we respect that. When youre brought into our treatment areas, youll be offered an iPad to use during your procedure, if you wish, and you can choose to listen to music, too. We specialize in painless dentistry, so you will feel no discomfort while in the treatment chair; in fact, some patients are so comfortable and relaxed that they actually fall asleep!
We understand that some people have dental-related anxiety. We see it as our mission to help those patients work through their fears, by actively listening, providing information in an open manner, and reassuring them that they are not alone. For those who do not want to be awake during their treatments, we offer oral and IV sedation, so the patient sleeps through everything and wakes without feeling stressed.
Dr. Keldsen strongly believes in educating our patients, not only about their oral health and how it is so deeply connected to overall body health, but also about treatments and treatment options. He and our team know that by engaging with our patients, and giving them the information they need to make educated decisions about their dental care, we will achieve the best results. Likewise, we are always available to answer questions, clarify anything that might be confusing, and provide support to our patients.
