In addition, we use only the latest in endodontic technology and the best in endodontic equipment and materials. These include, but are not limited to, endodontic microscope to perform all cases, an advanced system for pressure micro-irrigation and micro-evacuation, intraoral and extraoral digital x-ray imaging with minimal radiation emission, and steam and heat-based instrument sterilization containing no harmful chemicals. By implementing the skills and knowledge of modern dentistry, we hope to advance the art and science of your smile.
For us, patient comfort is our top priority. To make your experience at our practice more enjoyable, we offer complimentary snacks and beverages in office, adjustable seats and headrests, personalized music during treatment, and inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide). Rima is one of our most experienced dental assistants (30 years of endodontic-specific assisting), and has been with our team since the very beginning. She is people-oriented, loves to hold meaningful conversations, and makes friends easily. All of our patients love her and we are so lucky to have her on board! In her free time, Rima can often be found enjoying nature and beaches with her husband and lovely dog, Joy. She also loves traveling and cruising.
Heather is originally from Colorado and has been in California for the last 3 years, but she has worked in the dental field for over 20 years. She prides herself in being able to create a relaxing atmosphere and to make patients feel welcomed. Heather always comes to work with a smile because she loves working with her team: an amazing team, a family. Outside of work, Heather has been married for 19 years and has two amazing boys. She enjoys reading, and spending time with her family out on the water.
Maryam has worked in the dental field for 6 years as an assistant and also a Front Office Coordinator. She loves what she does every day; helping our patients give meaning to her everyday work. She is a lifelong learner and has not only obtained her dental assisting license from the Central County Occupational Center and bachelor degree from the University of California, Berkeley, but she is also currently on the road to obtaining a masters degree. When not at work or school, Maryam loves spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, going places she has never been before, and reading fantasy and mystery fiction.
No. All Endodontists must be licensed to practice, but at this time only 1 in 5 Endodontists have continued on to complete Board Certification. The American Board of Endodontics (ABE) certification process signifies a unique achievementa significant step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in Endodontics. The process requires the Endodontist to demonstrate actual accomplishments in patient care with detailed case reports on the treatment provided for a broad range of patient problems. Board certification is a voluntary achievement that all Endodontists do not choose to pursue. In order to become board certified by the ABE, an individual Endodontist is thoroughly interviewed by a highly respected panel of examiners to demonstrate their endodontic knowledge, clinical skills and judgment.
One. The American Board of Endodontics (ABE) is the only certifying board in the specialty that is recognized by the American Dental Association. The ABE was founded in 1956 and the boards purpose is to elevate the quality of endodontic care for the public by promoting excellence through certification, education and professional collaboration.
Successful completion of the examination process demonstrates the Endodontists highest commitment to excellence in Endodontics to both the endodontic profession and the general public. It represents a commitment by a licensed specialist that he/she has the necessary knowledge base and skills to treat patients to the highest of standards. It exemplifies a practitioners commitment to continue to keep abreast of the latest advances in patient care and to continue to deliver these latest advances to patients. Many Endodontists see it as a demonstration of their dedication to the specialty and the highest level of personal achievement.
Endodontic Board Certification requires a three-part examination. The process involves a one day Written Examination that tested abroad range of fields including anatomy, biochemistry, pathology, immunology, microbiology, radiology, statistics, clinical endodontics and related disciplines. Successful completion of this board exam allows the Endodontist to proceed to the Case History Examination where they present diverse and complex case reports from their practice, demonstrating an exceptional knowledge, skills, and expertise in the full scope of the field endodontics.
The final phase of the Board Certification is an oral exam, where a team of experts questioned the endodontist about a variety of diagnosis and treatment situations. Throughout the extensive interview, the endodontist demonstrated a high level of skill in problem solving, decision making, analysis, creativity, and evaluation.
