Dr. Deborah Joyner, or Dr. Deb as shes known to her patients, grew up in the Marion / Cedar Rapids area and followed in her fathers footsteps to become one of the best local dentists. Shes passionate about her work and loves combining the latest technology with genuine care to help patients improve their smiles.
After graduating and working for a husband and wife dental team, she rented space at her dads dental practice before opening her own practice in 2000. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Joyner believes in doing dentistry differently where youre in charge of your health, and shes your partner for a beautiful, healthy smile!
She loves creating long-term relationships with her patients and helping them maintain their teeth and gums for a lifetime. In her free time, Dr. Joyner enjoys spending time with her kids, cooking for the family, being outdoors, and watching volleyball.
Dr. Deb Joyner and her professional staff have always provided my family and me with the highest quality dental care. They are very efficient, compassionate people who will go out of their way to see that you are comfortable. I can't say enough good things about Joyner Dental Arts and would never go anywhere else. Thanks, Dr. Deb, for making us smile!

When considering a career, Eileen thought about nursing or teaching but chose the dentistry field because it combines elements of both. The best part of her job is assisting patients with preventing and treating oral disease to improve their overall health.
Outside of the office, Eileen enjoys spending time with her family, baking, sewing, gardening, listening to vinyl records, and tending to her backyard chickens. Her favorite quote is, 'We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.'
Michelle is originally from Marion, Iowa, and graduated from the Kirkwood Dental Assisting program in 1996. She's passionate about getting to know her patients and helping them reach optimal dental health.
When meeting each patient, Michelle can empathize with their needs and, along with Dr. Joyner, teaches them about the best treatment options. In addition, she and the entire team are committed to learning new techniques that improve patient care for faster, more effective, and more comfortable dental procedures.
I've been coming for several years and always have as good of an experience as possible. I was one who avoided the dentist for a long time and the team has helped get my teeth and gums into a much healthier spot. Good knowledge and very calm.
LANAP (Laser Assisted NEW Attachment Procedure) is the only scientifically researched and proven dental laser treatment that promotes new bone growth as well as gum tissue reattachment. Its FDA-approved and offers more success and less pain than traditional surgical treatments.
The LANAP procedure targets the source of gum disease and inflammation without harming or removing healthy gum tissue. This means less downtime and recovery for patients. If you have periodontal problems, then turn to one of Eastern Iowas leading dental offices for a safe and effective treatment.
I would recommend Joyner Dental Arts to everybody! The staff is always very nice and they care a lot about the comfort of their patients. I hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Deb and her staff make it a much more tolerable thing for me to do!
Best experience with a dentist that Ive had by far. Called with a broken tooth and the absolute worse pain in my life. Set me up for 9 am the next day. Called me an hour later and got me in immediately today. Was in and out, feeling the best Ive felt in 5 days. Will definitely make a return trip.
Yes, but we advise against it because most emergency rooms, urgent care facilities, and hospitals dont have dentists on staff. This means theyre likely only able to provide antibiotics or pain medication to ease your symptoms, not treat the actual problem. Therefore, youll still need to see a dentist.
