Dr. Joosse is a board certified orthodontist practicing at Joosse Family Orthodontics in Williamsburg, Va. He obtained his Bachelor of Science from the College of William and Mary (Go Tribe!), his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania and his Master of Science in Education in Higher Education while he was in dental school. Dr. Joosse also received his Advanced Education in General Dentistry at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, CA. He served 5 years as a general dentist in the United States Air Force, mostly at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. There, he was awarded Company Grade Officer of the Year for the Medical Group and Company Grade Officer of the Quarter for the entire base. Dr. Joosse completed his orthodontic residency at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A Dugoni School of Dentistry. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Dentistry for his research during residency.
Dr. Joosses interest in orthodontics was first sparked at dental school during a wire bending course, but he really found his passion for orthodontics during his Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program. He had the opportunity to practice orthodontics and loved thinking about the movement of teeth in space. He also loved how eager his patients were to see him and how much of a difference orthodontics could make for their self-esteem.
He feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend a top-notch orthodontic residency program at the University of the Pacific; the university where Invisalign was and continues to be developed. He feels that his education in Invisalign was exemplary and that his instructors demanded excellence. Dr. Joosse was board certified within six months of graduation and after residency, he and his wife Alex moved to Virginia. To Dr. Joosse, Virginia was always home, he feels a kinship with people here and its the people of Virginia who he wants to serve.
