Dr. Mike Fitzpatrick is a second generation dentist with over 15 years of experience. He chose general dentistry as a profession because it offers the unique opportunity to apply his talents in art and science, while developing friendships and caring for smiles.
Having grown up near Peoria, Illinois, he completed his dental education at Southern Illinois University. Afterward, he and his wife, Lesa, settled in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to establish his personal and professional roots. They love raising their children, Tyler and Maggie, in a small town environment.
Dr. Fitzpatrick practiced with Dr. Richard L. Buss for 12 years until Dr. Buss retirement in 2009. Dr. Fitzpatrick has pursued hundreds of hours of post-graduate training at the University of Iowa, Dawson Dental Academy and other respected institutions. Exceptional dentistry requires a commitment to learning the latest techniques in all disciplines, including treatment of gum disease, caries management and restoring mouths to optimum health and beauty. In addition to his daily practice, Dr. Fitzpatricks involvement in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and Iowa Dental Foundation have been rewarding. They have offered a great avenue to make positive contributions to the community and promote oral health.
