Dr. Michael Holbert is passionate about creating beautiful, healthy smiles for his patients. He enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level and learning about what they expect from orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Holbert received his Bachelor of Science from Penn State University. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. Dr. Holbert went on to obtain a Master of Dental Science and orthodontic certificate from the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Holbert is also an associate professor in the Department of Orthodontics at VCU School of Dentistry. He enjoys interacting with the orthodontic residents and sharing his knowledge while staying abreast of the latest trends within the orthodontic field of dentistry.

Dr. Holbert is an active member of several Richmond, VA dental and orthodontic study clubs. The study clubs provide a great opportunity to collaborate with dental colleagues and specialists about addressing the needs of their shared patients. Additionally, Dr. Holbert attends national and regional meetings of the American Association of Orthodontists to stay current with the latest orthodontic treatment techniques and new technologies.
Dr. Holbert met his wife, Paige, in dental school and they have two amazing boys. Following dental school, Dr. Holbert and Paige traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal to serve with a dental mission program. While there, he and Paige were able to hike to the Mount Everest base camp, where he proposed.
He loves spending time with his family and being outdoors. You can find him hiking, biking and running on the Buttermilk and North Bank trails of the James River Park System. He is an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and enjoys playing guitar and singing in the Lifestyle band.

I interviewed five orthodontists when I was looking. Dr. Holbert came highly recommended by my dentist. He took the time to listen to my questions and find a better way to solve our issues.
