Dr. JohnVer Ploeg grew up in the Iowa countryside. A wrestler and trombone player in high school, he then left home to attend the University of Pennsylvania and later Montana State University. In 1979, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota, where he met Julia, a dental hygiene student and his future wife.
Upon graduation, John andJulia moved out to New Hampshire to start their life together. Thirty-plusyears later they are still here, the proud parents of 4 adventurous children who continue toexplore various corners of the world.
I love dentistry because of its immense potential to positively affect a person's life. I believe that every visit should focus on improving the quality of life for the patient, both during the visit by making sure the patient is as comfortable as possible and for the future through long lasting, qualitycare. With that goal in mind I strive to provide quality, compassionate care to my patients.
I attended the University of New Hampshire where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. After graduation I spent half a year as a volunteer educator and caregiver at an orphanage in South America. It was during this experience that I developed an interest in health care. Upon returning to the United States I completed prerequisite course work in the natural sciences in preparation for dental school. I attended the University of New England College of Dental Medicine where I earned a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2017. After graduation I worked as a general dentist in Baltimore, MD and later Dover, NH where I practiced all aspects of general dentistry and pursued continuing education in endodontics, oral surgery, implants, restorative dentistry, and Invisalign.
Dentistry is an ever evolving profession, and I firmly believe in the value of continuing education. By maintaining a cutting edge knowledge of dental advancements I aim to provide patients with the most comfortable experience, most predictable outcome, and longest lasting results available.
Outside of dentistry I enjoy a variety of activities. During the warmer months I love sailing, hiking, motorcycling, and occasionally SCUBA diving. When the weather turns cold my activities shift to cross country skiing, downhill skiing, and pond hockey. I enjoy travelling any time of the year and am always on the lookout for the next destination.
Terri joined Dr. Ver Ploeg as a Dental Assistant in 1982 and stillloves what she does. Terri is also a lifetime member The American Association of Dental Office Management.Terri considers herself fortunate to have had the opportunity to be part of apractice where she has truly has found a home.Outside of her career in dentistry, the best part of life for Terri is the joy of being a mother to her grown daughter, Jacqueline. Terri enjoys traveling as well as spending time on the coast of Maine.
Colby graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2009 with her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. Colby joined our office in 2013 and is excited about becoming part of such a dedicated and caring team of individuals. Having grown up in Epping, she is thrilled to be working in the community she loves so much. She loves going to the beach in the summer, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
Jaclyn has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 2007. Jaclyn joined the staff of Epping General Dentistry in 2012, after staying home with her son, Dante, for a little over a year. Jaclyn is happy being back working in the dental field. She feels fortunate to be working in the same practice at which she was a patient as a child; Jaclyn loves coming to work and loves seeing the same faces she saw here as a kid. She loves spending time with Dante, and sheenjoys the beach, golfing, and other outdoor activities with her family and friends.
Hannah joined our staff in February 2016. She has lived in the small town of Chester all her life and enjoys the 'small town' feel. When she isn 't at work, she can be found at various lakes and ponds in the area, exploring new trails and parks when the weather is good. She also loves to spend time with her friends where they four-wheeling and have bonfires on the weekends.
Ryane graduated in 2012 with an Associate of Science Degree in dental hygiene from New Hampshire Technical Institute. Ryane joined Epping General Dentistry in the fall of 2016 and is looking forward to working with such a caring dedicated team. Ryane is familiarwith our town of Epping has lived in this area. Ryane, alongside her longtime boyfriend, enjoy their own home locally to raise their children.In her free time Ryane enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and her children.
Lindsay Jo has lived in Epping with her husband since 2015 and enjoys our dynamic community. When she is not greeting our patients with her beaming smile, she teaches yoga to the aging community to help them achieve a more comfortable quality of life.
Diane finally became a part of the EGD team in August 2020 after spending several years helping the office as a temporary hygienist. She brings a lot of experience to the office, as she graduated with her dental hygiene license from Middlesex Community College in 1999. She also has her license to administer anesthesia. She has a strong passion for dentistry and enjoys the challenges of the field. One of the aspects of hygiene that Diane especially enjoys is patient education, as she likes to make sure that each patient understands the concerns of the hygienistas well as those of the doctors. Diane and her husband moved to Epping in 2006 and love the small-town life. In her free time Diane enjoys biking, kayaking, and volunteering with her church. She and her husband have two dogs they spoil rotten.
