Dr. James Hoke is a retired dentist with specialty training in Prosthodontics. He received his DDS from Ohio State University and his specialty training degree from the University of Michigan. He came to Chapel Hill after completing his specialty training and taught at the UNC School of Dentistry. Subsequently, he went to the dark (blue) side and was on the medical staff at Duke University Medical Center as head of the dental section, where he treated complex medically and dentally compromised patients. In 1989 he established his private practice of Prosthodontics in Durham. He retired from that practice in 2018. He remains active in Dentistry as the head of Dentistry for the Samaritan Health Center of Durham, by doing volunteer dental treatment for the underprivileged at Urban Ministries and TROSA, and by helping in quality private practices as needed.
When not down at the mouth he enjoys carpentry, woodworking, travel, and, most importantly, spending time with family. Dr. Hoke is joining us at EFD two days a week during this time of COVID-19. Please join us as we welcome Dr. Hoke to our team!
