Originally from western Nebraska, Dr. Eric Fuehrer graduated from University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 2009. Prior to dental school, he attended Doane College where he majored in Biology while playing baseball. For the first nine years of his career, he practiced in the state of Kansas. Dental composite is a strong, beautiful resin that can be bonded to your teeth. It can be used on your front teeth to repair fractures and fill in spaces between teeth. It can even be used in place of porcelain to correct misshapen or discolored teeth. It is a conservative procedure in some cases, little or no tooth has to be removed. It can also be used in your back teeth to fill cavities or replace worn silver fillings.

In this case, a combination of composite resin and porcelain crowns were used. The front two teeth, severely affected by cavities around the old filling material, needed porcelain crowns to provide strength. The tooth to the left of the two front teeth (as you look at the picture) was misshapen and discolored. Composite resin was bonded to this tooth without the need to remove any of the original tooth enamel! The tooth to the right of the two front teeth was just fine and was not treated in any way. This kind of treatment can make a dramatic difference in ones smile.
