Dentist Dr. Jess L Holler founded Elite Smiles Dental in 1981, after taking over the practice from Dr. Merle Drew, who had been in that same building since 1950. Since then, he and his team continue to take continuing education courses focused on crowns, bridges, and implant procedures. His favorite part about working in dentistry is interacting with people and helping them achieve their oral health goals.
He first became interested in a career in dentistry when he was in high school. Dr. Hollers first focus was on the medical field, and he entered Indiana University as a pre-med student. In his second year at school, Dr. Holler met his wife, Cindy and her grandfather was a dentist. Meeting and talking with him sparked that interest to pursue dentistry for Dr. Holler.
A graduate from Terre Haute South High School, Dr. Schmitz found an interest in dentistry at an early age. After experiencing multiple rounds of orthodontic treatment as well as being able to volunteer at a dental clinic in his youth, that interest quickly turned into a passion.
Dr. Schmitz took this passion with him as he went on to graduate from DePauw University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology, which lead to him to pursue his Masters Degree in Biology from Purdue University. He completed his dental training at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. In between studying, he also found time for love as he was able to meet his wife Claire while in school!
