Dr. Faler was born and raised in Hattiesburg, MS and grew up working summers in his fathers periodontal practice where he gained an early interest in dentistry. After graduating from Mississippi State University in 1993 with a B.S. in Biology, he went to dental school at UAB School of Dentistry in Birmingham, AL. In 1997, he graduated from dental school and immediately began a 3 year residency in periodontics. During residency, he was selected as the Research Fellow in the UAB Department of Periodontics Research Clinic and also won a research scholarship from the Department of Oral Biology. He received a Masters in Dentistry from UAB Graduate School, and a Certificate of Residency in Periodontics from the UAB Department of Periodontics and the Birmingham VA Medical Center in 2000.
After his postdoctoral training, he moved back to his hometown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and began practicing with his father. In 2003, he moved to Atlanta, GA. Since then, Dr. Faler has been practicing periodontics in the metro Atlanta area with a group specialty office. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology and is also an adjunct professor at UAB Department of Periodontics. Dr. Faler enjoys hunting, snowskiing, cooking, and spending time on the lake with his daughter, Isabella.
Dr. Mindy Gil grew up in sunny southern California. After completing her bachelors degree in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University, she continued her studies at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) for her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Following her passion for oral-systemic link of our health, she pursued her studies and earned specialty certificate in periodontology and Doctor of Medical Science in Oral Biology (DMSc) from HSDM. She is a board certified diplomate of American Academy of periodontology. She received extensive training in all aspects of preserving the supporting structures of teeth, and reconstructive dentistry with a special emphasis on biological and esthetic aspects of implant dentistry.
Her philosophy on dentistry revolves around preservation of health and prevention of disease in connection with the whole body wellness. Dr. Gil is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality, and personalized dental care for each patient. She is a member of American Academy of Periodontics, American Dental Association, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and baby boy Daniel.
Dr. Thao Nguyen was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam so she is fluent in English and Vietnamese. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from University of Houston in 2014, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX in 2018. After dental school, she pursued a 3-year postdoctoral residency in the field of Periodontics and Implantology at Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Dentistry in New Orleans, LA, where she earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a Specialty Certificate in Periodontics. During residency, she served as Chief Resident and her research project was granted an award by the Advanced Education and Graduate Research committee.
Dr. Nguyen is enthusiastic about providing outstanding quality of care with compassion in a comfortable environment to patients. She is also dedicated to community service through numerous voluntary work as well as dental mission trips to Guatemala and Jamaica. She is an active member of American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and Georgia Dental Association. Being an avid sports fan, especially soccer, Dr. Nguyen enjoys sporting events, running, motorcycle rides, exploring new food, and traveling when she is not caring for her patients.
