I frequently interact with younger patients and remind them of the importance of paying attention to what they learn in school, of being active members of their own families and helping their siblings and parents, and of taking responsibility for their success in life.
When working with adults, Im often helping them to take control of their oral health. I find that educating older patients on the relationship between dental health and overall lifestyle can have a significant impact on an issue the person has been ignoring or didnt know much about.
Going through orthodontic treatment takes a significant commitment and really is a team effort. The best and most enduring results require patients to be active participants in the process, from the initial visit through the finished smile.
In the best situations, my patient, their family if theyre young, my team, and I form a partnership. We all work toward the goal of a functional, beautiful smile, and each play an essential role in making the treatment process enjoyable and successful.
I am currently a Clinical Instructor in Orthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Teaching at Harvard keeps me in touch with the next generation of orthodontists. Each of those future practitioners challenges me to stay at the forefront of the profession in order to help them strengthen and expand their clinical skills.
Continuing education is integral to all I do. I am an active member of the Seattle Study Club, which allows me to meet and interact with multiple general and specialists dentists from many of the top practices in Central Massachusetts. This study club is the best way I have found to stay current with dentistry outside of orthodontics and helps me craft better treatment plans that relate to the total dental care of our patients.
My dad worked for a Canadian bank while I was growing up, so my family moved frequently: Newfoundland and Toronto, Canada, Montclair, NJ, and San Juan, Puerto Rico were all home at one time or another.
Susan and I have two sons: our oldest, Garrett, graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Business and works for Atlantic Distributors. Our younger son, Jamie, graduated from the Berklee College of Music and is a recording engineer and music producer in Boston.
Sue loves cats: as such, we currently have three. They seem to tolerate me, unless Sue is out of town, and then they love me! I know I shouldnt play favorites, but I do adore Stinky Pete, our grey tuxedo feline.
At age 40 I started to ski: my golfing buddies would ski in the winter and finally convinced me to give it a try. I loved it immediately! Starting late makes me a cautious skier, but Im still trying to get better. I enjoy New England skiing and also try to get out west every year, or to the big mountains.
I think, at heart, I am a teacher. This is probably one of the things that initially attracted me to Susan. I like to learn and I like to share what I know with others. Whenever I encounter a new idea or experience, I am immediately drawn to thinking of how I can share it with someone else.
I love getting to know each patient throughout the course of their treatment. No matter the persons age, each gains self-esteem and confidence as they see the change in their appearance. Witnessing a persons excitement the day we take the braces off, and they see all they have accomplished, is the highlight of what I do: that person will carry the beautifully healthy, engaging smile with them for the rest of their life!
Orthodontics requires me to be a critical thinker and problem solver: while the mechanics of tooth movement are well understood, each patient has their own concerns and I must design a treatment plan that works for the whole of their situation, not only their clinical needs. No two individuals are the same, each with their own treatment goals, needs, and personalities, and those differences always keeps things fresh.
This is an amazing practice that guarantees patients will receive the best orthodontic experience available, from excellent providers who always prioritize the patients wellbeing. Each member of the staff is fun-loving, problem-solving, compassionate, and friendly.
Continuing education, in both general dentistry and orthodontics, is a core part of my commitment to the profession and my patients. I seek to broaden my understanding and skills while learning about new methodologies and staying current with the latest research.
Born in Springfield, MA, I grew up in New Milford, CT and have lived in Newton, MA for several years, sharing my life with my long-term girlfriend, Megan. All of my grandparents, aunts, and uncles are in the Springfield area, my mom and dad are in Connecticut, and I have a brother living in Ireland.
Outside the office, I enjoy time with family, hanging out with friends, and playing Ultimate Frisbee and hiking. Im an avid fan of the Boston sports teams, too: Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Boston College!
We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice.
I went to Monty Tech, where I studied dental assisting. I have been working in the dental field since 2010 in orthodontics and joined Dr. Rowes team in 2015. I assist Dr. Rowe in the placing and removal of braces, complete wire adjustments, and deliver appliances.
I love helping people understand the orthodontic process and making sure they have everything they need to start treatment. Being there at the beginning, and seeing how much each person changes as they see their new smile appear, is an incredible experience!
I went to school in Lunenburg, where Dr. Rowe lives. Now I live in Leominster with my husband Brian, our two children Aaron and Laney, and a dog, cat, and a few chickens. I have trained as a yoga instructor but have found I mostly enjoy being a student in my free time. I also love true crime, reading, and baking.
I love being part of helping people achieve great smiles. Seeing a person start treatment feeling self-conscious and then opening up as their smile changes is a priceless experience. Im lucky to be here for it!
I meet with patients and families to review the financial aspects of orthodontics, including insurance and payment plans. Dr. Rowe offers interest-free payment options, which means we can find a way to make sure everyone achieves an amazing smile, without straining their budget.
I love seeing our patients beautiful smiles and creating friendships with them during their orthodontic journey. Everyone here at Dr. Todd K. Rowe Orthodontist works together great as a team, having fun and getting the job done!
I attended dental assisting school at Massasoit Community College and have worked in the field since 2010. As a member of the clinical team, I see patients for orthodontic observation, assist with braces and Invisalign, and do wire adjustments and braces removal.
I love meeting and getting to know our patients during treatment. Everyone is excited to get started and that excitement grows, visit to visit, as they see the change in their teeth. What many people dont realize is how their personality changes along with the physical change. Seeing each become more confident and secure is exciting!
When Im not working Im usually enjoying time with my son. We live in Templeton and love going to the beach when we can. He plays ice hockey for the Railers in Worcester, so his games and practices keep us busy.
My family keeps me busy outside of work. My husband Matt and I have two children: Lilu is a cheerleader and Liam loves soccer. We have a rescued dog, Luke Skywalker, who enjoys playing with the kids. We love boating at the lake, camping in the mountains and at the beach, and being outside year round. As long as the five of us are together, were happy!
