As a former lab technician, Dr. Hamel is extremely picky when it comes to the quality of the restorations used in our practice, which is why he still makes many of them himself in our own dental lab! This not only ensures that they look great and are extremely durable, but doing everything in-house also helps drastically cut down on turnaround times, helping patients get what they need even faster.
The grandson of a dentist, Dr. John Hamel began his career in dentistry in 1975, earning a degree in dental laboratory technology while attending college in upstate New York. After accepting a position in a dental lab in New Hampshire, he pursued a career as a dental ceramist, specializing in porcelain restorations until 1979, at which time he entered dental school.
Dr. Hamel has also attended the Baylor University of Contemporary Aesthetic Diagnosis and Treatment in Dallas, and he has completed the Masters Aesthetic Course at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Hamel has also trained at the Institute for Oral Art and Design.
He can provide patients with dental care not only to maintain the health of their teeth, but also to create a dramatic transformation in their overall appearance. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Hamel views dentistry as a blend of art and technology, not only as an avenue to provide good oral health, but as an opportunity to create beautiful, natural smiles. He strengthens his knowledge every year by attending continuing education courses in order to stay up to date on the latest advances and techniques in dentistry.
Dr. Hamel stopped using mercury in his practice back in the 90's due to its long-term effects on the teeth. In 2008, Dr. Hamel began to experience personal health issues. After many doctor visits and tests, he was diagnosed with mercury toxicity.
Through lots of research, he joined the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and made a commitment to stop exposing himself, his team members, and his patients to mercury by following the safe removal protocol. Dr. Hamel received extensive training from the IAOMT and is SMART certified for safe mercury removal. There are very few dentists that have the knowledge and skills to remove mercury fillings safely without exposing a patient to harmful levels of mercury vapor.
Dr. Vita grew up in Powder Springs, GA where he attended Harrison High School and then went to college at the University of Georgia. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Sciences before pursuing his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta.
While in dental school, he participated in many intramural sports teams, planned golf tournaments and also traveled to Haiti three times on dental mission trips. On his last mission trip, he proposed to his now wife, Andrea.
Dr. Vita loves to educate his patients throughout the treatment process. He strives to use only high quality dental products proven by research in a conservative manner in a larger effort to improve patients overall wellness.

Brooke brings over 18 years of customer service experience to Biologic Dentistry. Her strong communication and organizational skills have allowed her to grow and flourish in the role of patient care. She loves seeing a smile on the patients face as they checkout; verifying they had a great experience from start to finish!
Anneliese has been working with Biologic Dentistry since May of 2021 as a Patient Care Coordinator. Prior to working at Biologic Dentistry, Anneliese worked four years in the optometry industry where she was able to gain experience with patient care. Her attention to detail, calm personality, and desire to give excellent customer service have made her a valuable asset to the team!
When she is not at the front desk serving our patients, Anneliese loves creating custom embroidery, baking, antiquing, and hiking with her husband, Ben. They have two fur-babies (cats) and live in Dallas, Georgia.
The dental office has always felt like home to Brandi, coming from a mother who is a dentist and an aunt who is a hygienist. Brandi has been in dentistry for 15 years with the last 7 years assisting in a biologic dental office. Her passion is being an advocate for her patients and helping them navigate through their dental journey.
Ever since childhood, Bretts dream has been to become a Dentist. After graduating from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Biology, Brett has been working under the mentorship of Dr. Hamel in the capacity of Dental Assistant and Lab Technician. He loves using his artistic abilities to design and mill the perfect ceramic restoration using CAD/CAM technology. He also specializes in waxing cosmetic cases, and manufacturing removable prosthetics, retainers, bleaching trays, and surgical guides.
Brett has served on several missions including a trip to the Dominican Republic, assisting with the dental needs of the local community. In his spare time, Brett enjoys spending time with friends, playing golf, working out, and watching the Crimson Tide on Saturdays. He is looking forward to attending dental school and achieving his lifelong dream of becoming a dental provider.
After earning a bachelors degree in Psychology from The University of Georgia, Carrie returned to school earning an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. Carries goal is to make all of her patients feel comfortable and at ease while promoting the importance of good oral hygiene. She is currently working on becoming accredited in Biological Dental Hygiene through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.
Dentistry has been a part of Kashlyns life since she was a child as her mom has been a dental assistant for the past 30 years. Prior to attending the Dental Assistant School of Atlanta, Kashlyn would intern at dental offices to learn about various specialties and aspects of dentistry. She always looks forward to meeting new people, caring for her patients and making their experience as pleasant as possible.
For the past 14 years, Melissas passion has been dentistry. Starting her career as a dental assistant in 2008 led her to a love for dental hygiene. Melissa enjoys educating her patients about the essential connection between oral health and overall health while working with a gentle touch. She has been a Dental Hygienist with Biologic Dentistry since 2016 and is excited to further her education by working towards an accreditation in Biological Dental Hygiene through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.
Brandie has been with Biologic Dentistry since 2014, spending her first year with us at the Front Desk. After receiving her Associates Degree from Georgia Northwestern Technical College and becoming an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, she found that her true calling is educating and assisting patients on their journey to whole body wellness. Brandie is well versed in walking patients through all aspects of the treatment process for restorative & cosmetic procedures such as onlays, crowns, implants, and veneers. Her passion is providing exceptional patient care as she has spent nearly 20 years in the healthcare field.
