Dental care for children is an important part of their total health program. We believe that caring for your child's teeth should not become a financial burden for you. In the event that full payment is not possible at the time services are rendered, we have some payment methods that may assist you. We also accept most insurance carriers. Dr. Proctor is a pediatric dentist who specializes in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. As pediatric dental specialist, Dr. Proctor is an expert on the growth and development of childrens dentition, jaws and craniofacial structures. An early growth and development evaluation may provide your child with a more positive experience should they need early-orthodontic treatment from our doctors.

Standard metal braces are actually made of very sophisticated metals and their technology has advanced significantly over the past twenty years. We recommend traditional braces to all our patients while allowing you to choose the option thats right for you.

Dr. James Proctor received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He then earned a dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School at San Antonio. Following dental school, Dr. Proctor completed his residency at Louisiana State University Dental School in New Orleans, specializing in Pediatric Dentistry.

In 1994, Dr. Proctor opened his first dental office in Conyers for children and teens, just south of Honey Creek Road on Georgia Highway 20. In 2000, he moved into his current location north of Honey Creek Road on Honey Creek Parkway, which connects Honey Creek Road to Georgia Highway 20.

Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your babys head will rest on our doctors knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctors chair.

Your initial exam will last approximately 1 hour. Oral hygiene instructions will also be given with suggestions to help your child care for their own teeth. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.
