Dr. Abram Hess and his team of friendly, skilled staff members are ready to serve you! Most of us call Whiteland, Greenwood, or the surrounding area home, and have deep roots in our communities and decades of providing dental care.
In addition to the full-time staff members pictured, you may also meet some of our part-time hygienists or assistants. Even though their hours are more limited, they are still an important part of our dental family and are fully trained to provide the comfortable, competent care you deserve.
Dr. Abram Hess graduated from the IU School of Dentistry in 2016 with a DDS degree. Before going into dentistry, he spent five years as a chemist in pharmaceutical research and development. He made the leap from pharmaceuticals to dentistry to get more interaction with the patients Im helping. Dr. Hess is passionate about treating each patient as an individual with unique health needs and challenges.
While Dr. Hess is a lifelong Hoosier, his passion for helping people has taken him all over the United States and the world. As a dentist, he has served in rural Indiana, urban dental clinics, the jungles of Ecuador, and volunteer-led clinics in Indianapolis. He has also participated in church-led projects in Iowa, Mississippi, West Virginia, and central Africa.
Dr. Abram Hess and his wife, Sara, have three daughters and one infant son. Their life is a chaos of princess dress-up, mud pies, and impromptu ballet performancesat least until little brother is big enough to have a say! If one of the assistants looks a bit young when you visit the office (and isnt allowed to do any actual work), it is probably one of his daughters visiting her daddy at work.
Deb is usually the first face you will see at Dr. Hess Dentistry! As the financial coordinator, she is in charge of checking in patients and handling the financial side of your visit. Give her a call if you have any questions about insurance, payment plans, or scheduling.
Deb was excited to join the team in 2001. Its exciting to be part of a team that works well together and takes such pride and care with each of our patients, she says. She has 16 years experience in the dental field, and has lived in Louisiana and Ohio before settling in Indiana. Shes happily married for over 30 years with two married daughters who have given her the pleasure being grandma to three grandsons. Deb loves to read, cook, garden, and spend time with family and her church. She is a proud season ticket holder for the Colts and enjoys supporting the Pacers as well.
Kathy provides the most fundamental dental service: regular six-month cleanings so your smile stays bright and healthy! She has been a dental hygienist for over 24 years and joined our team in 2019. She graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
McKenzie just recently started her career and graduated from Franklin Dental Assisting School in 2019. Her mom, who works ina dentists front office, played a big part in McKenzies career choice. McKenzie was always her moms helping hand on school holidays and has seen the dental field from the inside, starting at a young age.
On days out of the office, McKenzie enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, enjoying nature, and playing with her pups. She hopes to inspire anyone who is interested in a dental career to pursue their dreams.
