A native of Rugby, North Dakota, Dr. Skari graduated from Red River High School and UND in Grand Forks. She knew as early as the seventh grade that she wanted to become a dentist, as she loved her visits to the orthodontist so much it led her down the path to dentistry. In 2001, she received her DDS from the University of Minnesota and started practicing dentistry immediately after and has never looked back. She loves the field and is passionate about every smile she helps create.
Dr. Skari starting training at the prestigiousPankey Institue shortly after she started practicing. After completing that curriculum, she has continued to do extensive training and learning at Spear Education. As a firm believer in life-long learning, she continues to be involved in various continuing education programs, such as small group study clubs, lectures, and hands-on workshops. She considers herself blessed to have wonderful and supportive colleagues, mentors, and teachers in the field of dentistry.
She sets a high standard of care at her office and takes her time with each patient. According to her, she gets to know people as people, which elevates them beyond just her patients, and can remember specific things about each unique patient. To Dr. Skari, everyone in her office is part of a dedicated team striving to create the optimal oral health and beautiful smiles that her patients deserve, and that includes keeping her patients involved and active in their care. At her office, she institutes a focus on prevention and comprehensive care, along with patient education.
When shes not in the office, her life revolves more around the schedule of her two children, Kaleb and Quinn. She often volunteers with her childrens activities and church events and loves to cook, read, do yoga and exercise, and relax at the lake cabin with her husband, Kurt.
When you enter the office, Jessica is one of two people at the front desk who will welcome you with a smile. After entering the dental field in 2001, she started as a chairside assistant to Dr. Skari. Her experience in both clinical dentistry and the business side of dentistry is an asset to the team. Jessica loves the dental industry and feels blessed to work every day with a team that cares about each patient and each other. Outside of the office, she loves spending her time with her husband, Rick, daughter Haley, and son Tyler. They are Bison fans and love attending sporting events, traveling and spending time at the lake as a family.
In 2014, Ashley graduated from the dental assisting program at NDSCS, though shes worked in dentistry since 2011. She started as a patient coordinator, which helped her learn to build trusting relationships with patients, prior to moving to dental assisting. In November of 2016, Ashley became part of the Skari team and has never been happier. She feels the joy of bettering patients smiles and forming relationships with everyone who enters the office. In her free time, she can be found with family and friends, cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins, relaxing at the lake, or shopping.
Kim graduated from St. Cloud Technical College with a degree in Dental Assisting. Since then, shes had over 25 years of experience in the dental industry, starting with a long-term position in the Twin Cities, where she worked with a dentist for 18 years. The decision to move closer to family brought her to Fargo in 2007, and shes happy to have found a satisfying career with Dr. Skari and team. Shes passionate about dentistry, and enjoys every part of the industry, from continuing education to technological advancements. She enjoys a challenge, so theres nothing she wont strive for, and loves working with a team who truly cares for one another and their patients. Kims three daughters, Kassandra, Mckenzie, and Gabrielle have enriched her life in ways that only children can, and though theyve grown up too fast, they will always be her girls. Kim and her love, Tim, have added an English Mastiff, Winston, to their familys farmstead in Hitterdal, a wonderful play partner for their mini labradoodle, Chewy. Kim feels blessed abundantly with her career and family.
Tara graduated from North Dakota State College of Science in 2009, where she received a degree in Dental Hygiene. She loves teaching patients the best way to care for their smile to help maintain optimal oral health. It is rewarding for her to build a trusting relationship with patients and she is proud to be part of a team that puts so much value on a relationship-based practice. She is passionate about oral health along with overall health and wellness. Outside of work, she can be found at the gym or outdoors as much as possible. She most enjoys spending time with her husband, Taylor, and two little boys, Theo & Archie.
Charity graduated from North Dakota State College of Science in 1994 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Her passion for dentistry is evident in the relationships she makes with her patients. Over her many years in dental hygiene, she has most enjoyed the satisfaction of working with her patients to help them achieve their best smile possible. Her favorite aspect of working at Skari Family Dentistry is the wonderful team who all have a true passion for what they do for their patients. They treat every patient like family. Outside of the office, Charity and her husband, John, enjoy watching their son Jack play hockey and soccer. You can usually find Charity at the gym or socializing with friends and family.
Emily graduated from MSCTC-Moorhead in 2015 with an AAS in Dental Assisting. She has always known that she wanted to work in dentistry, as her experiences at the dental office were always positive growing up. With that being said, she is passionate to reciprocate the same care she has received as a patient and to build trusting relationships with patients along the way. Emily joined Skari Family Dentistry in August 2020 and is excited to work alongside such a wonderful, strong group of women. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her significant other, Khayvon, and their two little boys, Kai and Hendrix. As a family they enjoy attending Bison football games, cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers, and being outdoors.
Lisa graduated from Northwest Technical College in 2000 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She also has experience at the front desk and was recently helping patients as a treatment coordinator. Lisas favorite part of dentistry is patient education and looks forward to getting to know her patients. Lisa and her husband, Drew, have a daughter, Kaylee, and a son, Caden. They have a rescue dog named Scout. Lisa enjoys reading, traveling, and attending her kids activities.
