As a native of Tallahassee, Dr. Howard is excited and humbled to serve the community as a healthcare provider. In 1993, Dr. Howard received his undergraduate degree in pharmacy from Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. While practicing pharmacy in Tallahassee, Dr. Howard obtained his Masters in Public Health from Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Institute of Public Health in 1999. Dr. Howard understands the challenges facing the underserved, the underinsured, and the health disparities prevalent within certain communities which includes the lack of access to dental care.His interest in dentistry began at an early age. He remembers vividly his visits to the dentist and how intrigued he was by what the dentist did. His interest and desire for a hands on approach to health care lead Dr. Howard to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics where he obtained his dental degree in 2015. His clinical training includes providing emergency and comprehensive treatment to the elderly, and for the mentally, physically, and medically complex patients over 18 years of age. He obtained hands-on clinical experience using a comprehensive care philosophy for geriatric residents in nursing homes and the homebound as a team member on the Geriatric Mobile Dental unit affiliated with the Geriatric and Special Needs Clinic, University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA.
Ms. Jouvonie JoJo Walden is a Dental Office Manager in Quincy, Florida. She was born in Anniston, Alabama to parents whom were active duty service members. After her mother joined the Army Reserve the family made roots in Thomasville, Georgia.
Ms. Walden graduated from Thomasville High School in 2006 with a dual enrollment from Southwest Georgia Technical College in Early Childhood education and received her Certified Nursing Assistant Certification. Immediately after she was offered a part time dental assisting position at Dr. Sibleys office. It didnt take long for her to be offered a full-time dental assisting role at Dr. Howingtons office in Moultrie, Ga. In 2010 she relocated to Fayetteville, NC where she accepted a full-time dental assisting/ treatment plan coordinator position at Dr. Walter Scott & Associates office. While obtaining her formal intra oral radiology certification for the state of North Carolina Ms. Walden learned she had a natural knack to teach and educate.
After receiving her certification from Sunrise School of Dental Assisting, she was offered a dental assisting instructor position with the same school. After months of juggling motherhood, being a full time Dental assistant, and part time dental assistant instructor she had to take a medical leave of absence due to injuries her and her family sustained from a tornado in 2011.
In August 2012 she relocated back to Thomasville, Ga and returned to Dr. Sibleys office as a dental assistant. Still having the urge to teach she accepted a dental assistant instructor position with Palmetto School in Smyrna, Ga. After working both jobs and commuting 8 hours roundtrip for a year, she resigned from Palmetto School. In November 2016 the unfortunately and untimely death of Dr. Sibley required her to seek out other opportunities. She accepted a front office position in Quincy, Florida where she is still presently employed as the Office Manager.
With more than a decade of Jouvonie working, teaching, thinking, planning, and her continuous education of the advancements of dentistry she attained the goal of opening and leading her own Entry-level dental assisting school with Dr. Enrique Howard the Spring of 2020 in Quincy, Florida. Jouvonie plans to continue to Put a smile on the words faces, in the dental field for many years to come.
