Dr. John grew up in Forest City, NC. He went to dental school at UNC Chapel Hill and received his degree in 1985. After receiving his DDS, he opened a private practice in Mooresville, NC but his love for sailing brought him to Eastern North Carolina. When he is not at work and volunteering his time on dental buses, Dr. John enjoys fishing with his grandsons, trips on his sailboat with his wife, and relaxing days at the beach. He is a member of the American Dental Association. He's serving on the Board of Directors at MERCI Clinic, a non-profit organization that provides free dental care for the community. With over 35 years in the dental field, he takes great pride in dentistry and being able to provide patients with excellent care with emphasis on restorative treatment.
Dr. Adam Davis graduated from University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2016. He joined the practice shortly thereafter. He is a member of the American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, and local Craven-Jones-Pamlico County Dental Society. Dr. Adam gives back to his community by volunteering on local dental buses and the MOMs clinic in New Bern. He enjoys kiteboarding, forming pottery, hiking, fishing and cooking.
Dr. Matthew Davis is the newest addition to our family practice. He graduated from the University of New England College of Dental Medicine in Portland, Maine. In his free time, he loves spending time with his nephews, traveling new places, sailing and fishing. Dr. Matthew frequently attends continuing education courses to further his knowledge of dentistry. He enjoys getting to know all our patients and is happy to be back living in the coastal region of North Carolina. We are excited to have him here, and he is a valuable asset to Davis Dental Group!
Dania was born in Tabasco, Mexico and raised in Eastern NC. Dania joined our team in 2019. Shes a shining example of the values we strive to instill in our practice. At an early age, Dania always knew she wanted to work in the dental field. She takes great pride in being a part of something that gives people the confidence with their new smile. Dania is professional, a perfectionist and very creative. She most recently 'tied the knot' with her high school sweetheart and settled down in Havelock. During her free time, she spends it with her family, her sweet canine, Coco and her German Shephard, Zeus.
Rhoda was born in Winchester, TN and raised in the Philippines. She moved back to the States in 2002 and went to college in Crown Point, IN but soon migrated to the warm state of Florida where she met her husband. She has been in the dental field since 2005. She originally worked for Dr. John Davis in 2008 when her husband became stationed at MCAS Cherry Point but moved away for a while. She moved back in 2017 to be closer to the beach and to once again work for our team as the Office Manager. We are glad to have her back. She handles the financial and dental insurance aspect of the practice, as well. She considers the patients at Davis Dental Group to be a part of her family. When she isnt spending time with her family and two dogs, she is at Lowes, cooking different cuisines, spending time on the beach or traveling.
Misty is the first friendly face you see when you enter our practice. She served in the Navy for 5 years and received her dental assistant training. She is a certified x-ray technician. She has worked in the dental field for 10 years. When Misty isn't pursing her Bachelors Degree at the NC College, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Zofia and their two dogs. Misty has been a military spouse for 14 years. Her helpful spirit and willing attitude makes her a great addition to our team.
Melissa Grew up in New Jersey. She moved to New Bern in September on 2020, to be closer to her in-laws. Melissa's parents are from Argentina and where her entire family currently lives. She enjoys being outdoors, working out and spending time with her husband and two boys, Lucas and Sebastian. They recently added a new member to the family, Uno, a German Shephard. Melissa speaks fluent Spanish. She has been an Registered Dental Hygienist since 2006 and loves building relationships with her patients.
Laurie grew up in Eastern Tennessee. She moved to Emerald Isle a year in a half ago from Chatham County, where she lived for 10 years. Laurie lives within bike- riding distance of her extended family on the Isle. Laurie enjoys cooking with her family on the weekends and spending time on or near the water. She loves to travel, read and spend time with her daughter, Hailey. Laurie received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene at CCCC in 2010. Recently, she was accepted to East Tennessee State University to pursue her bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene.
Lori-Ann was born and raised in Rhode Island where she graduated from CCRI with a degree in Applied Science majoring in Dental Hygiene in 1990 after dental assisting for 6 years. She loves working with periodontal patients and those fearful of the dental environment. Her and her husband moved to New Bern in 2018 when he took a job at MCAS Cherry Point. Lori-Ann has three daughters which two have recently became engaged. One has since moved to be closer to her here in New Bern. She spends her time gardening and traveling with her family.
Christy is a true native of West Virginia but grew up in North Carolina. She has been with the practice long before Dr. John took ownership in 2007. With over 24 years of assisting experience, Christy is truly a great asset to Davis Dental Group. She takes the utmost care to listen to our patients needs and provide outstanding service to every individual. When Christy is not at work, she enjoys motorcycle rides with her husband, spending time with her family in the Keys, baking, cooking amazing Cuban Food and catching some rays on the shores of Shackleford Island.
Iris is from the sunshine State of Florida.She was raised in the beautiful city of Clearwater. Iris graduated from Pinellas Park High School in May of 2017 and went straight into Dental Assisting School where she graduated with honors in April of 2018 as an assistant with expanded functions. Iris loves her job dearly. She is starting her studies for her bachelors in Science Degree on her way to fulfilling her childhood dream of being an Oral Surgeon.
