Dr. Carrie Niemann began her career with undergraduate training at Miami University and went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University in 1998. There she received the prestigious James Marquard Award for Humanity in Dentistry and the Public Health Dentistry award.
Dr. Niemann is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, South Carolina Dental Association, and Coastal District Dental Society. She is committed to maintaining excellence and frequently attends continuing education courses and trains regularly with the Pankey Institute to further advance her knowledge and skill. She includes the latest in dental technologies such as digital (computerized) x-rays, air abrasion (drill-free) tooth colored fillings and laser cavity detection. Her particular areas of interest are pain-free dental procedures, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Niemann is firmly committed to providing kindness, humanity and understanding in her practice. She strives to give a comfortable and stress-free experience to all her patients. She is the proud mother of one beautiful daughter who she loves to spend time with when not in the office. Dr.Niemann treats patients of all ages and especially enjoys seeing families.
Jessica is a 2009 graduate of Charleston Southern University with a degree in Business Management and has worked in dentistry since 2010. She lives in the Hanahan area with her husband Allen and their 2 daughters, Millie and Kit. When not at work, Jessica enjoys going to the beach and lake and spending time with friends and family.
Lori is a 2009 graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a degree in Communications. A native of Illinois, Lori, her husband, and 2 daughters now call South Carolina home and love living in Charleston! In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to see family, spending time with friends, and going to the beach.
Shanna graduated from Greenville Technical College in 2007 with a degree in Allied Health Science: Dental Hygiene. She loves living in Charleston. She enjoys going to the beach, comedy and suspense movies and solving puzzles.
Christine graduated from Trident Technical College in 2009 with an Associate in Health Science Dental Hygiene. She enjoys walking trails with her dog Scooter and camping in the fall. She also enjoys traveling, history and horror flicks.
Carey graduated with her bachelors in 2005 from East Carolina University. Go Pirates! She received her dental assisting certificate from Wayne Community College in 2007. Carey enjoys exercising, going to the lake and beach as well as spending time with her family and friends.
Katie is a 1996 graduate of the Dental Assistant program at Midlands Technical College. After graduating, she moved from Columbia to the Summerville area and has been glad to call the Lowcountry home ever since! Katie enjoys working out, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.

We offer state of the art screening exams including VelScope , for oral cancer and oral disease screening. This gives Dr. Niemann the ability to detect oral lesions in the earliest stages to give patients the best cure rates.
We offer OnSetprecision buffering for and OraVerse for our local anesthetic. OnSet dramatically increases the speed and effectiveness of the anesthetic, helping you achieve total comfort in less time. For patients who would like to 'turn off' the numbing effect as soon as possible, we also offer OraVerse. This speeds up the rate at which the numb feeling wears off.
We are proud to be the first office in the Lowcountry to offer 3M True Definition Scanner. The first step in creating a new crown or bridge restoration is making a dental impression. In the past, this meant having to bite into a tray filled with putty-like impression material. The True Definition Scanner replaces that unpleasant procedure. It allows your dentist to take extremely accurate 3D digital impressions of your teeth. In fact, studies have shown that people prefer the comfort of digital impressions to traditional techniques.* The crowns made from the digital impressions have been proven to fit much better than those from conventional impressions.
Your exam will include the use of the KavoDiagnoDent Laser Cavity Detector. This aids Dr. Niemann in accurately diagnosing decay and can prevent over treatment and under treatment. DiagnoDent is the most accurate caries/decay detector on the market.
Air abrasion is a drill-less technique that is being used by Dr. Niemann to remove tooth decay and prepare teeth for sealants. It uses a fine spray of abrasive instead of a drill to remove decay and debris from teeth.
We strictly follow infection control protocol beyond the standard OSHA requirements in order to insure your absolute safety. Our modern equipment has been specifically designed to aid in this process. For each patient, all dental instruments and hand pieces are heat sterilized. Countertops are chemically disinfected and where applicable, disposable instruments and barriers are used.
Our treatment coordinators, will be glad to provide a written estimate of recommended treatment including insurance estimates. In addition to billing your insurance for you we offer several different payment options. Payment is due at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience we accept cash, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover and Care Credit.
Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all, of the cost of dental treatment. Dr. Niemann is a provider for many insurance companies. Please bring in your plan information with you and we will be glad to submit the insurance for you. We can submit insurance electronically. If you have questions regarding your coverage, please ask our office manager, who will be happy to work with you to find the answer.
