Dr. Ryan A. Draiss has been providing quality care in Alabama since 2011. His education began at Samford University, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in biology. The doctor then moved on to complete his Master of Science in environmental management at Samford University. After completing his studies at Samford University, Dr. Draiss attended the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, graduating with his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2010.
Dr. Draiss attends continuing education beyond the hours required by the state board in order to keep up with the ever-changing field of dentistry and provide the best care for our patients. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. His goal as a dentist is to help patients keep or gain a confident, healthy smile for a lifetime.
He and his spouse, Dawn, have four children: Barrett, Addison, Layton and Parker. Most of his time is spent with the kids at softball, soccer, cross country and other activities, but when he can spare the time, he enjoys running and exercising.
Dr. Draiss was blessed to be able to join in on a medical mission trip in July 2021 to help the people of Honduras receive dental care. Check out this video that was taken by a member of the mission team!
Christy joined our team in December 2018. She has been in the dental field for 19 years and practicing hygiene for the last 12 years. After graduating from the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program, she worked in correctional dentistry and then later practiced in general dentistry. Christy enjoys helping provide the best possible services to our patients. She educates patients about the needs of their oral health and works constantly to improve communication with her patients.
Christy has a son named Austin, a daughter named Julie-Anna and a dog named Milo. In her free time, she enjoys being with family, watching Auburn football and doing anything that involves being outdoors.
Savanna joined our team in March of 2020. She finished her Dental Assisting Program in August 2019. Prior to joining our team, she worked in pediatric and general dentistry. She loves helping out wherever she can and views teamwork as a number one priority. The highlight of her job is seeing patients walk out more confident than when they came in.
Jillian joined our team in August of 2021. She has been a dental assistant since 2019 but grew up helping out around her fathers dental office every summer. Prior to joining our team, she worked in general and cosmetic dentistry in Huntsville and Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Being a part of giving someone their confidence back is one of her favorite parts of dentistry, and she views teamwork as the most important aspect in a dental office.
Abby joined our team in September 2021. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist and enjoys being able to help others reach great oral health. Most importantly she likes to share her knowledge with the patients and help educate and answer any questions or concerns they might have. She has also been a certified dental assistant since 2015. She loves working side by side with the doctor but the hygiene side of the field is her happy place!
In her free time, Abbys top three favorite things to do are: spend time with family (especially with her fianc, Kendrick and her baby boy, Kali Rey), eat and nap. Come hang out with Abby and get your teeth cleaned, she is excited to be a part of the Chelsea Comprehensive Dental Family!
