Dr. Jared Wu earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and his bachelors degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA. He completed a one-year post-graduate General Practice Residency (GPR) at the VA West Los Angeles.
Dr. Wu has extensive experience in restorative dental care and cosmetic dentistry. He continues to take dental continuing education to keep his skills and knowledge up to date. His approach to dentistry is built on a philosophy that emphasizes prevention, education, and comfort. He enjoys recreating smiles and treating dental emergencies to relieve patients of their pain.
I have been practicing dentistry for over twenty years and enjoy being able to offer full reconstructive care to my patients. I have been studying and practicing implant dentistry since 1985 and am familiar with the many different implant systems used today.
My educational background commences with my attending University of California Los Angeles from 1972 to 1976. Next, I attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston from 1976 to 1979 and graduated with my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. I continue to take 30 to 60 units of continuing education each year to keep up to date with the current trends in dentistry.
In 1982, I was awarded fellowship into the Academy of International Dental Studies. From 1991 through 1996, I served as a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California. I have also served on the Advisory Board for Cerritos College Dental Auxiliary Program since 1986 as well as serving as a member of the Peer Review system for the California Dental Association since 1988.
I have a strong belief in giving back to the community that you work or live in. I have served on the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce Board for nine years, including a year as President. I have also served on the Board for the Friends of the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts for the last 11 plus years, including 2 years as President. The Friends organizations primary mission is to provide educational opportunities for children and, as a founding board member, I have seen that organization grow from an idea to serving more than 125,000 children annually.
My extensive experience in the field of cosmetic, family, and emergency dentistry has allowed me to help restore smiles using state of the art materials in a comfortable setting. Our state of the art technology allows us to provide the best that dentistry has to offer, and I pledge to you that I will continue to strive for improvement each and every year that I have the opportunity to serve you.
