A native of Zimbabwe, Dr. Mafa moved to the United States at the age of 18 in pursuit of a better life, opportunities and education.
Dr. Mafa moved to Memphis, TN, where she later received her B.S in Biology from UT-Martin. After graduating in 3 years, she decided to take time off to help her brother start a high-end women's boutique in Memphis. It was during this time that she was introduced to dentistry by one of her clients, a dentist named Dr. Booke.
Melody's very 1st dental visit was with Dr. Brooke, and it was that visit that transformed her entire lifes journey. She enrolled in graduate school, and in 2013, Dr. Mafa earned her DMD from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Since graduating, Dr. Mafa has served patients nationwide, working in multiple states before deciding to run her private dental practice, Bliss Dental Clinic, in the the greater Philadelphia region. She has continued her education through additional coursework, and by practicing alongside some of the most revered dentists in the industry, she has gain specialized knowledge of today's most transformative cosmetic dental procedures and oral surgeries.
Dr. Mafa loves art, and with Philadelphia being the city of the arts, she is in heaven. She enjoys live music, dancing, and painting. When she is not working on teeth or canvas, she is playing with Sunny, who is part of our dental team.
