Dr. Metcalf is a North Dakota native. She grew up on a small farm located 15 miles E of New Rockford, ND. She joined the military her senior year of high school. She attended North Dakota State College of Science and earned her degree in Dental Assisting (2004) and Dental Hygiene (2006). After practicing as a Dental Hygienist for eight years, she went back to school for dentistry. She graduated from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She has four beautiful children, Madison (15), Tate (12), Talen (5), and Vaida (3). Her and her husband, Seth, moved to Bemidji with their children this summer (2018) making Bemidji their forever home, and they are excited to lay their roots down and for their children to flourish. She purchased Division Dental Studio the summer of 2018, turning it into Bemidji Family Dentistry. Dr. Metcalf, when not doing dentistry, can be found at the hockey rink with her boys, Tate (peewee AA Goalie) and Talen (termite), or on the ski hill with her older daughter Madison (downhill competitive alpine snowboarder). Dr. Metcalf is still in the military, she has served in the Army National Guard for 18 years. She is a Dental Officer with the Minnesota Army National Guard out of Cottage Grove and Camp Ripley, Little Falls.
Dr. Metcalf loves her patients and providing them with beautiful and healthy smiles. She also holds oral health education to a very high standard, she believes that the best dentistry is no dentistry. She works to give her patients the education and tools for themto improve their oral care at home. She believes thatbyeducating one person on oral health practices, along withhow it relates to our overall well-being, we can create generational changes from that point on. She holds herself and her staff to the highest degree of patient care in every aspect, and strive to continue provide her patients with thebest care possible in an environment that is neutral, caring, and relaxing! Everyone is beautiful and everyone deserves to smile!
