Thank you for visiting our website! Im Dr. Jackson and am happy to introduce myself. Im a North Carolinian, born and raised. My entire family went to NC State University, and so did I, majoring in microbiology, where I was valedictorian. From there I was fortunate to go Harvard (HSDM) for dental school, where I was second in my class. I also was honored to be inducted into OKU, the dental honor society. While at Harvard, I was given the Deans Community Service Award and was chosen to be a part of the HSDM/Forsyth Institute Research Academy. With a love of working with children and a desire to make things easy for them, I decided to specialize in pediatrics with 3 years of training at UNC Chapel Hill and getting a Masters in Public Health while there. I earned my board certification after residency, becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Then for demonstrating leadership and service in the field, I earned Fellowship status.
Giving back to the community and my field is important to me. Currently Im on the board of the NC Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, serving as president. Previously Ive served on the Buncombe County Dental Society, including Past President. I am an adjunct assistant professor at UNC Chapel Hill Dental School and serve on the AB Tech Dental Advisory Committee. I also volunteer to screen children through the Asheville City Schools Head Start Program and help teach the MAHEC GPR Residents pediatric dentistry.
I decided to open my own practice in 2007, wanting dental experiences to be easy and fun, and for children to be able to stay close to a parent during their visits. Here we continue to strive to make each visit as easy as possible! When I learned about Solea, the all-tissue dental laser (healing light) that makes almost all dental restorations able to be done without numbing, I knew we had to make this technology available to our community and get the word out! Now I get to give webinars and speak to other dentists about it to help them implement it in their practices. I sincerely hope you have the best dental experience and learn how to keep you and your familys mouths in balance.
When not helping people at the office, I love spending time with my family and friends. Ive been blessed to be married for over 20 years and have two wonderful children and a fluffy Tibetan Terrier. Personally, I love exercising, doing projects with my family, and praying.
Hello Asheville Pediatric Dentistry Families! Im excited to introduce myself: Im Dr. Joel Sayre. I was born and raised in Montana where I earned a degree in cell & molecular biology at the University of Montana. I received my dental degree in Portland, Oregon at Oregon Health Sciences University, graduating with high honors and being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. At the University of Minnesota, I also completed a general practice residency in hospital dentistry. After graduation, I practiced general dentistry for three years in Washington state and Colorado. In 2004, I focused my passion to serve children, returning to academics to specialize in pediatric dentistry. I obtained this specialty training at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. After graduation, I moved my young family to Bozeman, Montana and opened Gallatin Valley Pediatric Dentistry in 2006, where I was fortunate to built a thriving practice over 11 years. During that time I became a board-certified pediatric dentist in 2010 by the ABPD, holding memberships in the AAPD, ADA and MDA. In 2018 I felt a calling to sell the practice and take an extended sabbatical with my family, traveling the world for a year. Since then, prior to joining Dr. Jackson, I worked in multiple pediatric dental practices in Montana and Michigan, gaining invaluable experience along the way.
I most enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married for 19 years and have four amazing children. We love being together in the great outdoors. Outside the office, my pastimes include hiking, biking, camping, skiing and running. I feel fortunate to have a new home in Asheville with my family and I consider it a privilege be working alongside Dr. Jackson!
I graduated from AB Tech as a dental assistant in August 2013. I always knew I wanted to work in the dental field through the wonderful influence of my aunt, who is a dental hygienist. I love children, which motivated me to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry. In my free time I enjoy going on hikes, admiring sunrises and sunsets, church activities, and spending precious time with my family. I love coming to work knowing that I am part of a family atmosphere, from the wonderful, caring team to the amazing patients and families! Life is a gift, enjoy every moment!
I am a graduate of the dental hygiene program at AB Tech. Combining my passion for oral health and my love for children, I excitedly chose a career in pediatric dentistry. Originally from Atlanta, I moved to the mountains where I love to be outdoors, stay active, travel, and be with friends and family. I feel blessed to be a part of a patient-focused, positive environment. Led by Dr. Jacksons example, the genuine care truly radiates between team members and to our patients.
I have been in dentistry for over 30 years. After relocated from northern Illinois, I love my new home in the mountains. I was happy to find a new work home with Dr. Jackson, as working with children is most rewarding. I have 2 children and 2 granddaughters. In my free time, I enjoy antiquing, cooking, camping, and word games.
I recently moved to Asheville from Central NC, and I gratefully found Asheville Pediatric Dentistry right away. While in school to become a dental assistant, I had the wonderful experience of working in childcare. It was then I realized I loved working with kids, and I desired to integrate my passion for dentistry with my love for children. Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors, cooking, and spending time with my family and my new fianc! I am blessed to have found both a beautiful new place to call home and an incredible dental home!
I am an Asheville native with 23 years of experience in the dental field. I started my career in Western North Carolina, and since then, Ive spent time working in dental offices located in Charlotte, Raleigh and High Point. I am proud to have sat on the dental assisting program board at Guilford Technical Community College, where I provided guidance to new assistants and educated patients about oral health. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, spending time with my Frenchie, DJango, and I especially enjoy spending time with my grandkids. Having experienced numerous offices, I know especially how exceptional Asheville Pediatric Dentistry is, and I am honored to be a part of the team!
I am a proud Western North Carolina native, born and raised in the small town of Mars Hill. Since middle school, I had always dreamt of a dental career. Having been a nanny for five years and finding joy in working with children, I knew I wanted to work in pediatrics. I began my search and quickly found Asheville Pediatric Dentistry. Since joining this wonderful team, I have felt at home, created many new friendships, and gained valuable knowledge. On the weekends, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, hopefully on the lake! Ive had a lifelong career in dentistry. While Ive worked in several different areas of a dental office, my love is in the front office and administrative part of the practice.I feel that working with children is very rewarding and that working for Dr. Jackson is truly a blessing. I love how kind and compassionate Dr. Jackson is with her patients, parents, and team. This is a great place to work! I have two children and love professional baseball and college football. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, organizing and working in my yard.
I was born and raised here in Asheville, North Carolina. After graduating from AB-Tech with an Associates degree, I became a certified dental assistant for an orthodontist for 15 years, followed by 10 years at the beach. Upon moving back to Asheville, I found a home with the Asheville Pediatric Dentistry team! Outside of work, I spend time with my family and friends and am involved in my church community. I especially love all things outdoors and have a passion for photography and traveling capturing the beauty that surrounds us!
