Dr. Shera Sims was born in Lawrence, Kansas and was raised in Hutchinson, Kansas where she attended high school. She attended the University of Kansas where she received her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Systemics/Ecology. In 2002, she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-School of Dentistry.
She completed a one year General Practice Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, followed by a 2 year Pediatric Dental Residency which she completed in 2006. In 2007, Dr. Sims attained her Pediatric Dental Board Certification.
She is currently a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the AAPD, ADA, past president and member of the MoAPD and member of the KCAPD.
Dr. Sims has a strong commitment to philanthropy and has donated time to MOMOM, Team Smiles and various school screenings. She is also a Clinical Faculty member at a hospital based dental residency program and sits on the Harrisonville School Foundation Board.
